  • Even if they fail to finish for whatever reason, it's not a bad occupation to have spent time building a church and donating to the cause.

    Undoubtedly.
All for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.
Even if it brings just one soul to God - perhaps even that of the donor.
Look at all the glorious churches and monasteries in England desecrated by the Protestants - were they a waste of time?
We shall do our part and leave the outcome to Almighty God, praying that it will be a happy one.

The "cause" grows as the months pass...buy this land, only $15K more (right), pay for this wall, on and on and on...and one appeal is followed by another, and another, etc.  Throw your money wherever you want, but any sensible man would have already realized that such an investment, especially in 2025, is unwise and it'd be better to use whatever limited resources you have for something else.  Maybe I am a curmudgeon, but these endless appeals at this moment in time seem out of touch with the fiscal reality of the world and anything sensible.

:laugh1:  Give. Me. A. Break.  These people clearly haven't the first damn clue about how to plan for and execute a building project.  Comparing this venture to pre-1500s England, etc., is disgraceful.

  • Looks like the land of the free there with seemingly no codes to worry about. Something like that would cost 100 times more over here.

But, that church is looking a lot bigger than I thought it was going to be. It's a bit thin and sketchy at this point on the upper structure.

Fr Nduefuna's security wall is a separate apostolate, a separate appeal, from a good priest who has more recently converted to Tradition and joined the Resistance cause, being conditionally ordained by Bishop Morgan.

Do you blame him for wanting to protect his church and faithful from the Islamic threat? If you were in his position would you simply deliver up God's work and faithful to the enemy?

Fr Peter Scott who is with the SSPX in Nigeria has a similar fortification surrounding the SSPX property that recently required an appeal for repair after floods.

    Caritas Christi urget nos.

It means something! When we see how much God has loved us and sacrificed Himself for us poor wretched sinners, it urges us to sacrifice ourselves and all we have for Him. It will determine our eternity. "Lord, when did we see thee hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not minister to thee?"...

  • Maybe I am a curmudgeon, but these endless appeals at this moment in time seem out of touch with the fiscal reality of the world and anything sensible.
Which one of these appeals would you describe as out of touch and not sensible?:

    1. A poor priest in a missionary country (Fr Chigbata appeal) wanting help to restore his eyesight so that he can continue to offer Mass and minister to his faithful.

    2. A poor priest in a missionary country (Fr Onuorah appeal), thrown out of the Conciliar Church and onto the street for standing up for Tradition, begging for help to establish a church and priory to operate his apostolate of Tradition.

    3. A poor priest in a missionary country (Fr Nduefuna appeal), similarly persecuted by the Conciliar Church for his stand for Tradition, wanting to protect his church and faithful from the Islamic threat.

If you have more pressing commitments, please at least stop dissuading other souls of good will from contributing to these worthy charitable causes, and from helping these priests who have made heroic sacrifices to remain faithful to Tradition.

How many times have we wasted Christs charity and gifts toward us, but does that make Him foolish, less praise-worthy, or regretful for what He has done?

The more they build that church is less time occupied building and working for secular projects. Maybe it's practice for when the crisis is over.

  • PV, do you know the status of Fr. Chigbata now that Fr. Onuorah has apparently renounced the "Fake Resistance" and +Williamson?

As I said in the other thread, I believe we all need some clarification about this and where Fr Onuorah actually stands as opposed to how it's been presented in the Recusant

Certainly. While I do not think the Recusant would be flat out lying about this, it's definitely a possibility that those with them took advantage of Fr Onuorah in some way..manipulating his view of the Resistance, +Williamson, etc. AFAIK the few Resistance priests in Nigeria are more or less on their own, it might not be easy for them to get an honest picture of the current state of Tradition,..especially when faced with a some sort of organized anti-"fake resistance" crusade by the "true" resistance
