I think we should pray for them to make the right decision.

As the novus-sspx continues it's slide downwards it has recruited a writer from the moderate paper "The Remnant" to make it's new poster boy. First they put him on display by having him give conferences in different sspx establishments. Then they set their new friend out to hack at Bishop Williamson. (Look at sspx.org)

Gone are the days when the SSPX (now the novus-sspx) quoted with a certain pride from Catholic Family News or Si Si No No. They are clinging to their new friend: "The Remnant" ---the inbetween paper. Between Catholic Family News and The Wanderer. A clear indication of a serious slip. Is it because of THIS appearing on the front page of Catholic Family News recently?...  http://www.cfnews.org/page10/page45/archbishop_dinoia_admits-convert_sspx_to_v2.html

A little advice for the up and coming Brian McCall: "We shall never learn to know ourselves except by endeavoring to know God; for, beholding His greatness, we realize our own littleness; His purity shows us our foulness; and by meditating upon His humility we find how very far we are from being humble" -- Saint Teresa of Avila

The downward-slide of The Remnant first became apparent to us with the May 20, 2012 issue in which Michael Matt interviewed Fr. Rostand about the negotiations.

Things started to make sense to us when we read in a more recent issue of The Remnant that Michael Matt drives 75 miles to attend an INDULT Mass! Now we realize that he just doesn't get it, that he is already in the Novus Ordo, so no wonder he wants +Fellay to join him. The recent nauseating articles by Brian McCall are just the frosting on the cake that made us decide that we are not renewing our subscription to The Remnant.

We'll take Bishop Williamson any day. His articles are clear and concise, and everyone can understand them perfectly on the first read. None of this gobbledy-gook double-talk that has one asking "What did the guy say???"

Michael Matt has been heading towards the reform of the reform wagon for a while although he is in denial. SP for him has been a happy compromise since his wife is N.O.  I believe he thinks that as long as+ Fellay gets also in the wagon, it will be okay. I pray he opens his eyes soon but after the conservative conference last week I don't think so. Frankly, I was dissapointed  that John Vennari participated in it but John will speak out before long. I have known him long enough to trust him.

What else has Brian McCall written?

It's disappointing that someone would drive 75 miles to assist at an Indult unless they were fairly uninformed of the more profound problems with Vatican II.  This does not include someone who writes articles for "The Remnant".  A trad writer who assists at an indult over a trad group is compromised in his mindset.

Just to clarify, it is Michael Matt, not Brian McCall, who drives to the Indult Mass. Michael Matt reveals in an article in the Sept 10, 2012 issue of The Remnant that his family drives 45 minutes (a correction) one way every Sunday to attend the Indult Mass in the Minneapolis/St. Paul Diocese (see "From the Editor's Desk", p.2, column 4, near the bottom).

The amazing part about the article is that M. Matt is upset with the Archbishop of the Minneapolis/St. Paul Archdiocese for coming out with a new requirement that any child who wishes to receive First Communion, even those who are homeschooled, must be enrolled in a "parish process of preparation". They must participate in all of its communal dimensions (rituals, prayer services, etc.) and any other requirements determined by the pastor. This, of course, means the use of the new Catechism, the avoidance of which is not doubt one of the reasons he chose to homeschool in the first place.

He fears that the children would be forced to "imbibe the deadly poison" not only of impiety, but also of heterodoxy and scandal. He obviously does not understand that this is why the Resistance is opposed to signing with Rome; that this would become a way of life for all of Tradition if the SSPX signs with Rome. He obviously does not understand that it is not just the Latin Tridentine Mass that we fight for, but all of the Catholic Faith, whole and entire. He needs to take a crash course on the crisis in the Church before it is too late! He'd better hurry before ABL's books are impossible to acquire, even on Amazon.com!
