Quote from: Lepanto Again
As the novus-sspx continues it's slide downwards it has recruited a writer from the moderate paper "The Remnant" to make it's new poster boy. First they put him on display by having him give conferences in different sspx establishments. Then they set their new friend out to hack at Bishop Williamson. (Look at sspx.org)

Gone are the days when the SSPX (now the novus-sspx) quoted with a certain pride from Catholic Family News or Si Si No No. They are clinging to their new friend: "The Remnant" ---the inbetween paper. Between Catholic Family News and The Wanderer. A clear indication of a serious slip. Is it because of THIS appearing on the front page of Catholic Family News recently?...  http://www.cfnews.org/page10/page45/archbishop_dinoia_admits-convert_sspx_to_v2.html

A little advice for the up and coming Brian McCall: "We shall never learn to know ourselves except by endeavoring to know God; for, beholding His greatness, we realize our own littleness; His purity shows us our foulness; and by meditating upon His humility we find how very far we are from being humble" -- Saint Teresa of Avila

So everybody but Bp. Fellay, seems to recognize the "Doctrinal talks" were a theatrical ruse used by both Rome and the SSPX.

However, neither John Vennari or Michael Matt will directly criticize B. Fellay?
This is today's traditional Catholic free-press?

This is one reason to thank Our Lord for the internet.

The most important things I took away from that lengthy rebuttal were:

1. The Society in no way denies the fact that in light of recent history and behavior, the first three sine qua non conditions may be rendered null de facto if diocesan bishops have authority over Society houses.

Given the current situation in Rome I would say that's a problem.

2. "One purpose of this Commission would be from the Society’s perspective to have a forum in which to continually echo the call for a conversion to Tradition at the highest levels of the Church. This is exactly what the doctrinal commission was designed to permit, the Society to present the case for Tradition in Rome."

Mr. McCall unintentionally admits here that the religion of Rome is not Catholic, for what does "Tradition" mean other than the one true Catholic faith? The SSPX is asking for the ability to convert Rome to Catholicism?

3. Although Mr. McCall's strongest claim is that the General Council's aim was to establish legal protection and a righting of wrongs, he misses the forest by focusing on the trees. The purpose of the SSPX was to preserve the faith. Under the present conditions in Rome why is reconciliation desired at all?

I leave it for each to read it himself, but that's what I took away from it.

Has Rostand run out of writers to defend the GC's Six Conditions so much so that he has to turn to Remnant writers for a hit piece. Pathetic.

Brian McCall assumes that the Neo SSPX is so special that they can enter the Roman Mystery and remain 100% Traditional? I have news for you Brian, Bp. Fellay doesn't have to sign anything. His mind & heart is already infected with Modernism. Look at his thinking:

"This structure that is being offered to the Society is in fact entirely appropriate. That is, if it actually takes place, you will feel absolutely no difference between now and afterwards. We will remain as we are, so to speak." - excerpt from his sermon in Vienna.

Bishop Fellay accepts 95% of Vatican II and so "now and afterwards" means he is now Modernist in leaning & thinking and afterwards will be under Modernists. Like the husband who wants to have an affair with another woman and lusts after her, but somehow it doesn't happen for some unexplained reason but still hopes for an affair. I know you men out there know what I mean. He doesn't need to sleep with her. He is already sinning in his heart!

A priest I know shockingly gave this remark, "When we're regularized, Rome will make the other Ecclesia Dei groups apologize to us." I told him, "Father, in your crazy irrational dreams!"

Brian: get a reality check! NeoSSPX is B16's grand trophy. No traditional group has survived under the Anti-Christ!

The downward-slide of The Remnant first became apparent to us with the May 20, 2012 issue in which Michael Matt interviewed Fr. Rostand about the negotiations.

Things started to make sense to us when we read in a more recent issue of The Remnant that Michael Matt drives 75 miles to attend an INDULT Mass! Now we realize that he just doesn't get it, that he is already in the Novus Ordo, so no wonder he wants +Fellay to join him. The recent nauseating articles by Brian McCall are just the frosting on the cake that made us decide that we are not renewing our subscription to The Remnant.

We'll take Bishop Williamson any day. His articles are clear and concise, and everyone can understand them perfectly on the first read. None of this gobbledy-gook double-talk that has one asking "What did the guy say???"

In that analogy, there's also a difference in the severity of those "sins of the heart":

The husband longing for adultery is breaking the 9th Commandment.

The bishop longing to unite his flock with modernism is breaking the 1st Commandment.

Shouldn't SSPX priests consider that before denying the Holy Eucharist to an SSPX faithful who resists Bp. Fellay ?
