  • St. Dominic's Chapel will welcome its 10th priest to say Mass there on July 23rd, 2017, at 4:00 PM.

This Resistance chapel has been operating since February 2013. That sounds recent, until you start doing the math -- that's 4 1/2 years!

In my list below, the years represent the FIRST TIME these priests said Mass at the chapel. With the exception of Frs. Pfeiffer and Hewko, we're still on good terms with all of them. And with the further exception of Bp. Trinh, all the rest of them are part of the "worldwide, mainstream Resistance" and so they could theoretically be back at any time, assuming no external obstacles got in the way. Some more likely than others, due to apostolates elsewhere, financial realities, travel difficulties, normal place of residence, etc.

We all know how busy most Traditional priests are. Especially the good, faithful ones. The harvest is great, but the laborers are few.

    2013
    Fr. Joseph Pfeiffer
    Fr. David Hewko

    2014
    Fr. (now Bishop*) Anton Trinh
    Fr. Richard Voigt

    2015
    Bp. Richard Williamson
    Fr. (now Bishop) Gerardo Zendejas
    Fr. Adrian Garcia

    2016
    Fr. Rene Trincado

    2017
    Fr. Giacomo Ballini
    Fr. Edward MacDonald

    * I haven't confirmed this with him personally, but a parishioner who attends his Masses in Texas told me that Fr. Trinh was recently consecrated a Bishop. I don't have any other details, unfortunately.

  • I am also curious how Fr (Bishop?) Trinh is doing. I liked him when I met him at St. Dominic's, some time ago.

Bishop Trinh was consecrated by Bp. Slupski, actually before he came to my chapel! He was a bishop "in pectore" at the time. I didn't know he was a bishop, but he was.
He is still offering Mass various places, including Lampasas, TX.
He sent a letter to myself as well as Bp. Zendejas, just letting us know that he is a bishop, the details of his consecration, and the fact that he'll be openly functioning as a bishop from now on.

He is a good cleric, who knows the evils of communism first hand, and vigorously opposes it in all its forms.

I honestly have never heard any dirt or anything bad about Bp. Trinh -- the only possible criticism is that he's a bit secretive, which is very understandable given his past! And it's certainly not a sin. When you've seen the evils of communism and had to fight them first-hand, you learn prudence and the value of anonymity and secrecy real fast. Bishop Slupski was the same way, having fled communist Poland. He had us call him "Fr. Frank" for decades, not because he was Novus Ordo, but because he didn't want his last name all over the place. Last name is obviously easier to track than first name. There are a lot more "Franks" than "Slupskis".

  • And since this thread has been bumped:

We're about to have our 11th priest offer Mass here -- a High Mass this Sunday at 4:00 PM offered by Fr. Francois Chazal who has been serving Asia for many years. He is in America for a short visit.

I believe it. I just sat at the same table as him last weekend for the Bishop Williamson 30th Consecration anniversary, and it was great.
He is a good solid priest as well as very intelligent and witty.
If any of you are within driving distance of Seguin, TX, please feel free to drop in this Sunday at 4:00 PM. The directions, etc. can be found on the chapel website. www.stdominicschapel.com

  • Cheers mate, he's also great with the hosts children. Thanks for the kind offer of attendance, but I live in Brisbane, Australia. I'm happy to receive the sacraments ( confession etc. ) from Father, but I stopped attending Una cuм Masses a few years ago. In fact, he was the Father at the very last Una cuм mass I have ever attended. I'll never forget it, he said pope Francis is a heretic and speaks new heresies every day. I found myself in full agreement. I regret his public disputes with Fr Chekada, but I like and respect him very much. I still enjoy conversing with him at a mutual friends place when he's in town.
