The Dominicans present themselves to the local Bishop? Was this curtesy always enacted, or is it recent?

I have no idea what that means.

But as regards these Carmelites, a priest writes to me to say this:

"These are the facts: This community, led by Fr. Tiago, was always submitted to the conciliar authorities (although it seems that Fr. T was ordained by sedevacantists). In South America they were part of the conciliar structure, and a few years ago they arrived on French soil, and settled in a diocese with the permission of the diocesan bishop. A few months ago they dissolved those links (that's what Fr. T says, at least)."

For my own part, I am curious as to why they wouldn't stay in Brazil, where they had vocations and the help of Bishop Thomas Aquinas.

Always. Write to them yourself and ask them if you want to know more.

Facts, with a little bit of prejudiced sauce to go with it.

Father T's ordination is trustworthy.

It is 100% true (not just "according to Father T") that they have dissolved these links. He came to Avrille, received formation from them, and they then advised him to go and set up his community. (he was separated from his brothers while doing this).

He chose europe because it is more likely that those from the third world would come to the first, rather than the other way around.

An anonymous person tells me that Fr. Tiago was conditionally ordained by Bishop Williamson.

PS: Does anyone know what it means to say that "the Dominicans present themselves to the local bishop?"  For example, on what occasions?  I know when they have preached missions here, they have never done so.
