They didn't put them together themselves - arbitrarily, so to speak. They accepted it from those who had faithfully passed it on. Why is the Pope taking it away from them... Why does he want to force them into something that is foreign to them?...
1400: It's not about a privilege or an indult, it's about a right.

Such a clear-thinking convert to Tradition? He will surely have no hesitation in subjecting himself to conditional re-consecration. When his actions are in conformity with his words, we might believe him. Until then, he is just fulfilling the ecuмenical mission entrusted to him by the leader of the pack.
