If you object to pedo priests or the bishops who protect them, you are a liar and commit calumny, says Pope Francis.

  • Ah, here we go again.  Hits on CI's sorry array of old topics have gone down dramatically. Why not try to prime the pump? Why not introduce a topic from Infowars which, though it has absolutely nothing to do with Fr. Pfeiffer, should make it an instant favorite by merely inserting his name in the topic head?   It'll certainly get a couple thousand views at the the very least.  Sad!

    Echo chamber...
We need to stop obsessing over Fr. Pfeiffer. He has chosen a tragic direction. We need to create, we need to build, we need to do our best for the Kingship of Christ. We need to learn our doctrine, we need to keep our families intact, we need to persevere, we need to....

I think it once again fits our fallen human nature. Deep down we love to see the depths to which people fall. We love tragedy. Perhaps it makes us feel good that we have not succumbed to the same type of misdirection in our own lives.

It is terribly frustrating to see people who are dead set against a deal with Rome (and rightfully so!!!) fixate so much on Boston and these distractions from our task to rebuild both at an individual level and a collective level.

  • I think it is not so much an obsession as it is an awakening and once awake you want to help others awaken.

  • Nothing to do with him? Of course it does.
Fr. Pfeiffer said anyone who objects to his sheltering of homo/pedo priests commits the sin of calumny.
Pope Francis just said the exact same thing.
Nothing like putting the kibosh on trying to stop corruption with spiritual blackmail.

Its unconscionable.  According to Fr. Pfeiffer, if you so much as suspect Fr. Roberts, Fr. Ugottagoiter (sorry, can't spell) or any priest who hasn't actually been convicted for pedophilia, you are in the state of mortal sin.
That's about what it amounts to, spiritual blackmail.  In reality, individuals under the care of priests who refuse to do protect their flock, remain in danger.

    Yep.
"Convicted"?  By whom?  I thought we are not supposed to take priests to court?  I thought we are only supposed to inform his superior and the bishop would take care of it accordingly...  unfortunately, the Church authorities have failed the Faithful and so the Faithful seem to have no recourse but to sue.  The fact it happens does not mean it is how the Church should function.  So I ask again...  If we are not supposed to sue a priest, how can he ever be Convicted?
Fr. Pfeiffer is so wrong on this one it is frightening.
Would you trust b. Timlin?  He wasn't convicted of anything, that I know of but he provided safe haven for many perverts...

Birds of a feather tend to flock together.
OLMC seems to be becoming SSJ part 2.

  • No, just two good Catholics with the natural revulsion for predator priests that YOU ought to have.
