Fr. Pfeiffer happens to like the sport of football  is knowledgeable of it, and has several nephews who play it.  On at least one occasion that I personally know, he attended a game in which a nephew was fullback.  There's nothing wrong with a priest enjoying a particular sport, the sport itself being amoral.
There IS a problem, IMO, with watching the Superbowl because of all the immorality associated with it, worldly entertainers who have "wardrobe malfunctions," mostly naked cheerleaders doing more twerking than cheering, bizarre advertisements, sometimes having occult or demonic connotations.  What message does it give a family, probably with children, when a priest views a spectacle that freely conveys a worldly message under the guise of a healthy, all-American athletic tradition?
Better he were returning to a family home to pray the Rosary in reparation for the souls corrupted by the immoral circus that surrounds the big game.

It’s very possible to watch the super bowl just for the football and do it morally.  You can skip the halftime show (it’s stupid anyways).  You could even skip the commercials and go get food at this time.  The cheerleaders are shown for about 5 seconds at a time about 4x a game - 20 seconds; easily avoided.  If you’re there just to watch the game, there’s nothing wrong with it.  There’s worse ads on YouTube nowadays that I see, especially on political sites.  Have to be careful everywhere.

Pax Vobis, to add to your point, you can record the game and then start watching it 30-40 minutes later.  This gives you the ability to fast forward through all the garbage.

If you wouldn't condemn a Catholic just for owning a TV, then I don't see why the Superbowl should be something you're particularly against. Even with the cheerleaders(a bizarre tradition, we don't have them in any of our sports at all), etc. taken into account, almost everything else on TV is worse these days.

These few players are the best of the 7 billion+  people in the world.
300 million, more like. It's played almost nowhere outside of the US.
