Last December 08, he received a certificate of congratulations from Leo XIV. The topic was posted on Cathinfo :

Indeed, in February 2016, Society leaders were in the process of organizing a meeting to study the latest proposals from Rome. To influence them into accepting the offer, Fr. Schmidberger sent them a 7 points internal memo in French. It was supposed to remain secret, but it was leaked a few weeks later, and then was much publicized.
