The great Fr. Girouard is gifted with the ability to see a trend far into the future, providing insight for others who would pay attention to his words.
.
We, in the Resistance, were afraid that a “normalization” with Rome would transform Tradition and dilute it to become just like the Novus Ordo Church…
.
But since the Branding, which I have exposed in June 2013, it has become clear that the process of liberalisation is already at work, and is already changing the Society and its faithful!
.
Maybe Rome will see that an official agreement will not, in the end, be necessary to destroy Tradition, and that the simple offer of a “regularization” is enough to have the leaders of Tradition destroy it!
.
Maybe Rome will see that no "practical agreement" will be needed, because the mere OFFER of a "practical agreement" will suffice.
.

For once, I agree with you Neil.

A very good observation from Fr. Girouard, as usual. Indeed, in order to destroy tradition, Rome needn't insist on regularization through a practical agreement, since the process of liberalization is already at work in the SSPX. What was the SSPX thinking with this goofy phone app?

It seems that Fr. Girouard's website is finally up and running again. I'm looking forward to hopefully more commentary from him in the future.

Maybe they're trying to appear "relevant" to the new generation -- the one with their noses stuck in their device screens at all hours.
.
But I don't trust phone apps in general, and in this case it opens the door for snooping on your private prayer activity.
They could ask to scan your screen to prove you're a member of their congregation, or to be eligible for Holy Communion.
Eventually it could replace Church attendance and the sacraments -- imagine going to confession via an app, or attending "virtual Mass," or getting a "virtual priest" for "last rites."

His old site, sacrificium.org, has been gone for several years now. I really liked how it was set up. I miss it.
Last time I tried to find it I got some Chinese site instead.
.
The new one is thebastion.faith -- I hope it can stay up longer than the old one did.

I didn't know that those apps could possibly do things like you mention above, which is an invasion of privacy, though I think that there already exists a form of "phone confession" instituted by some in the Novus Ordo, which isn't surprising.

Yes, it was frustrating that Fr. Girouard's old site seemed to maybe be hacked, since there was weird Chinese material instead where the site was supposed to be. Father has such good insight into the Crisis in the SSPX. It would be nice if he could post some of his sermons on the site.

UPDATE from Fr. Girouard:

Dear faithful,

The Neo-SSPX has a Priory in Winnipeg (Manitoba) and missions in Dryden (Ontario), and Welwyn, Regina, and Saskatoon (all in Saskatchewan). I was in that Priory for seven years (2002-2009), so I know these people.

I just received a copy, from a friend, of the Winnipeg March 2018 parish bulletin, and you can have access to it by clicking on its icon on the right side of the screen.

In this docuмent, you will find a picture of a couple (copied below) on their marriage day. She, Monica Green, is a parishioner from our parish in Welwyn. In the old SSPX, we would have married her at our chapel over there, like we did with many others before.

But, no! Not in the Neo-SSPX! Now we had her marriage taking place in a Novus Ordo church in Brandon (MB), located midway between Winnipeg and Welwyn, so two hours away from each place. (Not a very practical location for anybody!)

Moreover, while Fr. Vachon, Assistant priest of Winnipeg Prior Fr. Loren Gerspacher, celebrated the traditional Mass, it was a Novus Ordo priest, delegated by the Novus Ordo bishop, who was the official Church witness receiving the vows!

On the picture you can see Fr. Vachon on the right, and the Novus Ordo priest on the left. Everybody is smiling, of course!
The Neo-SSPX is now all comfy-comfy and lovey-dovey with the destroyers of the Church!

On the same bulletin, you also have a letter from Fr. Daniel Couture (Canadian District Superior) praising Archbishop Lefebvre’s fight against the inversion of the ends of marriage at Vatican II. It is actually a good letter!
So, what should we think of this parish bulletin?

Well, we have here a typical example of the Neo-SSPX tactic: Talk big, and strong, and traditional, but in your actions, walk liberal!
Your talk is there to make people accept your walk!

It also helps make you feel that you are not as liberal as you seem, so you can stiffle your guilty feelings (if you have any) and sleep better at night!
The Neo-SSPX is now consistently mixing up together the liberal and the traditional, the bitter and the sweet! There is nothing else to say but: The Neo-SSPX is turning Chinese!

God bless you dear friends, and hang on to the Truth, because the ride is bumpy!

Fr. Girouard

Who does fr. Girouard work with?  Who is his bishop?  Who does he support (i.e., what camp is he in)?
