There is too much talk in the Resistance media and too little call to prayer…

Our combat is, as St Paul remarks, “not against flesh and blood; but against principalities and powers, against the rulers of the world of this darkness, against the spirits of wickedness in the high places.” (Eph. 6:12)

I am convinced that behind the worsening of the situation in the world, the aggravation of the crisis in the Church, and the problems within the Resistance (in particular with the ‘Morangate’, the ‘Pablo Hernandez’ case, etc.), there is a renewed action of the Devil, sowing discord in the hearts and confusion in the minds.

We cannot remain idle, so we must have recourse to EVERY means given by God in these troubled times.

Specifically I would like to recommend to all our confreres and faithful:

1) To say daily, at least until Pentecost, the long Exorcism of Leo XIII. The particular circuмstances surrounding its composition and the obligation made by Leo XIII to say a shorter version after every Mass, should convince us that God wants us to use frequently this powerful instrument against Satan and all the demons.
This prayer is not restricted only to the Priests. When said by a layman, it should be done in private and not using the lines and the blessings reserved for the priest.
It should be said with preference in Latin, but also is permitted in the vernacular (see the attached text)

2) To add to our daily Rosary, at the end of each decade, the shorter Exorcism of St Michael (500 days of indulgences).

3) To practice some fasting, as Our Lord recommends it especially against the power of the Devil: “This kind [of devil] can go out by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.” (Mk 9:29)

If we have Faith and Confidence in God, it will not be very long before seeing the fruits of our prayers.

God bless you.

Fr. J.C. Ortiz

So what's the question? Would you like to spell it out, please.

     Is this: (excerpt from OP)

the long Exorcism of Leo XIII. The particular circuмstances surrounding its composition and the obligation made by Leo XIII to say a shorter version after every Mass, should convince us that God wants us to use frequently this powerful instrument against Satan and all the demons.

not precisely, (or at least pretty much,  according to the news article),  what P the M has been condemned so roundly for doing?

    Better?

I'm going to treat your question as an honest question, and I'm going to summon up the patience to answer it (again).

Pablo the M_exican was not just piously going around as a sane Catholic praying the St. Michael prayer for protection from the demons, and perhaps carrying a small holy water bottle in his car to make pious use of the sacramental, and/or wearing a Miraculous Medal or St. Benedict medal, and making use of other blessed objects. Nor was he distributing sacramentals or leaflets on "how to pray the Rosary", the St. Michael prayer, or any other prayers a layman can make use of against the devil.

These are things that every devout Catholic can and should do.

Claiming that "this is all that Pablo did" is totally false, Boston, KY propaganda. But despite how many times it's been repeated, it's just as false today as it was 2 years ago!

What Pablo the M_exican was banned from CathInfo for was totally different.

Just read that article which he *totally admitted to and had no problem with*.

His pride, his boastfulness, his treating the devil like an old High School rival who he's gotten into fisticuffs with on a few occasions, "talking smack" with and about the devil like a Pro Wrestler, etc. is what people have a problem with.

But especially: he was waiting up with a deck of playing cards and a boombox, waiting for the devil to manifest himself. (And then what was he going to do?) This was for a third party, not for himself. When you advertise yourself as especially qualified to fight the devil and/or do exorcisms for a third party, you are an exorcist, period. An amateur or lay exorcist, but an exorcist nevertheless. You might as well get an 800 number and a special van with interesting graphics on it (a la "Ghostbusters").

No sane Catholic would behave thus.

Pablo is excoriated for superstition and an unhealthy obsession with the demonic. Plus many other behaviors that the devils are pleased with (lies, slander against priests, sowing confusion, pride, anger, threats, bullying of the aged, etc.)

So let there be NO confusion about what we condemn Pablo for.

  • To add to Matthew's post, the "grace before meals" prayer is technically an exorcism that the laity can, and should, say. As one priest stressed, it's certainly needed today due to most every store-bought food having been "blessed" by a rabbi to meet kosher requirements.

  • Thought this should be bumped. I think it's important to participate, hoping any who missed it will take a few minutes daily to recite the prayer advised, and perhaps even some extra. Please, CI, don't let these priests continue to sink without bothering to lift your voices to God on their behalf.
