fr Onoda says the extraordinary mass, in a not ordinary, yet ordinary attire in St Peters. altar cards are missing perhaps as well. the Vatican sacristy is very stingy.

    Fr. Chazal sent this in.

It seems that canon law (precisely: liturgical law) is not only for Pope Francis, but also for (some) SSPX-priests of little importance:

    Quote
    Rubricæ generalis Missalis Romani (1962):

XI – de præparatione altaris ad Missam

    527. Super altare adsit in medio Crux satis magna cuм Crucifixo, et candelabra quæ iuxta qualitatem Missæ requiruntur, cuм candelis accensis, hinc et inde in utroque eius latere. Ponantur insuper sic dictæ "tabellæ secretarum", sed pro tempore Missæ tantum; et, ad latus Epistolæ, cussinus, seu legile, Missali supponendum.

XI - The Preparation of the Altar for Mass

    527. On the altar, in the middle, is placed a reasonably large cross with a figure of the Crucified, and on each side of it the candlesticks required fort he lighted candles, according to kind of Mass. Moreover, the so-called „tabellae secretarum“ [= altar charts] are placed on the altar, but only during the time of Mass; and at the epistle side, a cushion or stand to support the Missal.

    .
Fr. probably had to bring his own vestments because if he used the Vatican sacristy vestments he would be choosing between several rags.  It appears someone has plundered all the beautiful priest vestments that used to be there. Perhaps sold them on eBay or Amazon.
    .
Also notice there is no tabernacle. The two short candles for Low Mass are way out on the sides, about 7 feet away from the priest. If it were the "old days" they would have these much closer so the priest could use them to see what he was doing in the dark without electric lighting.

  • The Tokyo Bishops are adamantly against Catholic tradition and the Tridentine Mass.

After Benedict's 2007 Motu, they allowed one private Mass to be celebrated at 4:00AM in Tokyo.

But who gives a rip about the Tokyo Bishops?

In the spirit of the Japanese martyrs, for years, Father Onoda should have been promoting the real Mass throughout Japan.

But he hasn't. What's he afraid of?   This isn't China, where your life is as stake for practicing your religion.

This is just another example of why the SSPX is not serious missionary Order.
"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi
