  • I got to read this infamous Fr. Le Roux letter today.

It was filthy lies, vile propaganda, and stinking offal.

He speaks of those who "are of good will, but are nevertheless doing the work of the devil" (to paraphrase) --

Well that could apply to you as well, Father.

As for his assertion that it's all about a treason that didn't occur -- that's a filthy lie. Where is one of the 4 bishops that Abp. Lefebvre hand-picked and consecrated? He is still alive and healthy, so where is he? Oh, they cast him out? Along with many other good priests?

Oh, and the SSPX attempted to re-unite with Modernist Rome prematurely? GREC? Sure, it didn't work out so well for Bishop Fellay, but that doesn't matter. If a married man propositions a woman who isn't his wife, it's still adultery EVEN IF the would-be paramour rebuffs him.

And Bishop Fellay's "apologies" ring extremely hollow considering his actions to rectify the ill consequences of HIS OWN MISTAKEN ACTIONS are noticeably absent.

Sorry, I don't see rumor, I don't see cut-pasting-gossip, and I don't see anyone in the Resistance doing the devil's work -- but on the other hand if I set my eyes upon Regina Caeli House, Stockton Hill (Winona, MN), Menzingen...

  • I also note that he takes the time to justify Tradition -- oh, those in Tradition (he is referring to the SSPX) respect authority itself as they perform their resistance to an authority that has gone astray.

But the Resistance? No, they are "anonymous subversives" and children of Talleyrand, the French Revolution and the devil's "non serviam".

More propaganda from the devil's septic tank!

Plenty of those in the Resistance are open and honest as they go about their work to oppose the new orientation/sellout of the SSPX. They use their full, real names, and are completely respectful of decency and Catholic morality.

So much for that filthy lie.

  • Well stated, Matthew. I especially liked this part:

  • Even at the funeral of Deirdre Manifold supporters of Bishop Fellay were calling those associated with The Recusant 'rebels'.

Then a few months later they were still defending Bishop Fellay.

Regarding GREC it is no big deal for the bulk of SSPX laity.

Even 'stbrigidswell' on this forum basically admitted to not having a clue of what was going on. I find that hard to believe.

Many are Christian Democrats hence the lack of interest in Krahgate. They share his worldview.

  • Wessex is correct though about the SSPX laity being a captive audience. There were exceptions but by and large were sheeple. Once they had a cosy chapel it seemed to be an 'I'm All Right Jack' attitude. Principle put aside.

Any hostility towards Bishop Fellay in Ireland is more to do with transfer of priests than doctrinal matters.

We are safe for now is the mindset in Ireland. When Fellay signs, it will be necessary to act.

    But the Resistance?

Some who believed to be 'resistance' went on pilgrimage with Fr Morgan and the SSPX. Who are they resisting?

To refer again to Ireland most laity still believe there is no treason. The Church of Fellay had a show of strength at Knock.

Many like Cassini will never involve themselves in the battle. The faith continues as before. They don't give a hoot about the resistance.

Many hated Bishop Williamson. He doesn't fit their cosy Christian Democracy.

You seem to believe they care about Bishop Williamson. Take Ireland again. The SSPX youth group didn't even bother to turn up to greet him. They were down in Cork instead.

Most Irish greeted Fr Pfluger warmly. Most have no interest in an internal matter.

  • SG on the 'Wessex was right thread'

    Quote
In a recent post, Wessex had opined that the reason there was not more of an upheaval from the rank/file laymen (and perhaps clergy) was because they were content within their cozy enclaves.

Recently, I had a conversation with a long-time SSPXer, who as much as admitted the same:

"We have fought for so long, and come so far, that I m just not willing to start over; I'm old and tired; I'm just not there."

Without realizing it, this person evinced bad disposition by showing a disregard for truth, by basically saying, "I don't care if the resistance is right or not."

This is the cause of complacency and willful ignorance which, for the first time, I heard firsthand.

For many years Bishop Williamson warned against this complacency.

He warned (and still warns) that if this complacency set in, the faith could be stolen from us.

And now we have schools, churches, camps, retreat houses, seminaries, pilgrimages, and the semblance of normalcy.

As I said recently, there are very few honest people left in the world.

Comfort, ease, and the lure of "normalcy" vs truth (and the inconvenience it imposes in a world ruled by Satan, who wants to stamp it out).

  • Those who complain of battle fatigue should recall the fifth Sorrowful Mystery and how it follows the fourth.  Carrying the Cross is not enough; one must be willing to then die on it.  The fifth Sorrowful Mystery of the Rosary is prayed for the spirit of sacrifice and the grace of final perseverance.

Bishop Fellay has launched another distraction rosary crusade.

Even Bernadette, a member of this forum was called a 'voice in the wilderness' and mocked because she proclaimed the truth. She has certainly been vindicated.

How or why so many SSPX laity disregarded truth is a key question. Even many SSPX abandoned souls. For what and why?

  • The above post should be removed.  It is beneath contempt.  No one here, least of all Matthew (aka "Moderator"), has ever stated that he has a hatred for the SSPX clerics or any man.  We do, however, deplore the direction (through deceitful action) +Fellay has taken our beloved SSPX.  All faithful Roman Catholics should have a hatred for deceit, falsehoods, and heresy.  To quote the great Fr. Frederick Faber:  "Where there is no hatred for heresy, there is no holiness."

John behaves just like the judaics.  When they've lost the argument on rational grounds, they resort to calling those who use better arguments bigots, or haters, or, (gulp) antisemites.  That's what's going on here.  John is on the wrong side of the issue, and I think he knows it.  John, Fr. LeRoux does not have a leg to stand on.  Get over it!
