He says clearly that the two hearts represent the Vendeé, which is where the SSPX got it from. I don't think a Jesuit can prohibit anyone from using IHS without their permission. Let's be rational.

It is ridiculous to suggest that Roman Catholic symbols are restricted to certain groups under what only can be described as "copyright laws". No religious order has ever demanded an exclusive use, especially for time-honored, universally accepted symbols for the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts; the Lamb of God; the royal house of Catholic France; etc. Additionally, we're talking about a Coat of Arms; what else would one use except symbols and a motto?

Does anyone know the history of when and why the SSPX chose the Vendee symbol as their logo?

Of course it should. What with traveling 23 hours by bus for the last 3 days to make it to the consecration, I'm sure God forgives me.
