Fr. O'Connor just turned 93 last week.  He is still peppy as ever.  I know that he was thrown out of his Dominican house because he would not go along with the New Mass.  I will post up the ordination date, but I am thinking it was pre-Vat II.

Does anyone know anything about Fr. John O'Connor at the SSPX chapel (St. Joseph) in Greenwood, Indiana?

He was the founder of the chapel it seems and is still there at least some of the time, but the chapel is officially serviced by the SSPX.

He's quite old and is pretty much retired, but I'm particularly interested in what year he was ordained.

I can't seem to find much information about him on the internet.

Father Wathen was the founder of Saint Joseph's Chapel. Later, Father Wathen met Father O and brought him back into Tradition. Father O served in the navy during the time of the Korean War and after that went into the seminary.

Well, if he was 30 when ordained, he would have been ordained in 1960, based on his age.  Unless he was over about 36 or 37 at ordination, it certainly would have been before the new rite of ordination was introduced in 1968.

Is this the Fr. John O’Connor in southern Indiana?
He has Fr. Gavin Bitzer from OL of the Pillar in Louisville, KY say Mass at his chapel certain Sundays and weekdays.
As of this October, he’s alive and kicking in his 90’s!
I don’t know when he was ordained or by whom, but given his age and the fact that Fr. Bitzer works with him, I’d have no concern about going to Mass at his chapel.
