A Catholic once saw this guy on the Golden Gate Bridge about to jump. He said, "Don't do it!" The poor fellow said, "Nobody loves me." The Catholic said, "God loves you. Do you believe in God?"
He said, "Yes." He said, "Are you a Christian or a Jew?" He said, "A Christian." He said, "Me, too! Protestant or Catholic?" He said, "Catholic." The Catholic said, "Me, too! Novus ordo or Trent?" He said, "Trent." He said, "Me, too!  Una cuм or non una cuм?" He said, "Non una cuм!" The man said, "Me, too! Sedevacantist or Sedeprivationist?"
He said, "Sedeprivationist." The rescuer said, "Me, too! SGG or MHT?" He said, "SGG. Me, too! But who Confirmed you, Bp. McGuire or Bp. Sanborn?”
He said, "Bp. Sanborn.”  The rescuer replied , "Die, heretic!" And pushed him over.

Those lacking my sense of humor should not take this joke as my being against Bp. Sanborn or Bp. McGuire.

There is a new website (timothyscotthoopes.com) that follows the ministry of Fr. Timothy Hoopes.

On the website, you can hear two voicemails that Fr. Hoopes left for one of the new incoming priests stating he will be making a police report, and then a second voicemail saying Hoopes wants to de-escalate the situation. Fr. Hoopes left these voicemails shortly after the LSN article was published.

The website also covers apparent variances in his background.

Here is what is currently on the website, timothyscotthoopes.com.

The website also keeps a record of what is going on with Friends of St. Charles Borromeo (apparently going to change their name to clarify their position), and also confirms they are in discussions with Bill as to how the rectory will be used.

PS If anyone knows his history from 2003 through 2019 that would help fill in the difference between the 19 months of confirmed ministry with the Greek Archdiocese (Greek Orthodox) vs the ten years given by the parish email account.

Quote
“I truly wish you well with the property – I’m not just saying that – and I hope your dream comes true, and that a bishop and nuns and a school and everything else you desire happens, in a manner of which your conscience can wholeheartedly approve. You are right that I am too medieval and impractical; your property deserves a better priest, and if you redouble your prayers our Lady may help you find one.”

The September
Mass announcement

On 26 September 2026, the community website still displayed its announcement for Mass in Topinabee on September 6.
The outdated listing suggests that the community’s online Mass schedule was not being regularly updated. Masses may also have become irregular, but their frequency cannot be confirmed from the website alone.

Decem tractatus astronomiae
A medieval work on astrology and divination attributed to the thirteenth-century Italian astrologer Guido Bonatti. It is written in Latin and includes astrological diagrams.
LifeSiteNews reports that the book was addressed to the rectory but, according to Bill Price, arrived at St. Charles Church by mistake. The article cites a police record confirming that Hoopes collected it.

This website reflects the best information available to us as of 28 September 2026. Gathering that information has been difficult. In correspondence, Bishop Giacomo Ballini stated that he would share Fr. Hoopes’s background only with ecclesiastical superiors. We have found very little publicly available online material independently confirming Fr. Hoopes’s background. This account may be updated as further information becomes available.

To submit information for consideration, post it in the “Fr Hoopes Mess” thread on CathInfo. We will watch the thread and consider relevant information for inclusion on this website.
