I don't think Carly is TGK or Fr. Hoopes. He seems to be a young convert who has some unusual interests. This isn't the first time I've interacted with him. I think sometimes he fails to understand while something may not be sinful, it doesn't necessarily mean one should have a strong interest in it like natural vs judicial astrology. It is one thing to understand the difference between the two things but in this crazy world we live in being able to find "legitimate outlets" is virtually impossible. Which is why people (including myself) seem to be flummoxed why he cares so much about it. Maybe he was bored one afternoon and he found it interesting.

Many on Cathinfo are older and are parents. I imagine no parents are interested in teaching their children the difference between astrological 'schools' and such. They have far more important things to teach their children. Catholicism\tradition covers so many topics. And astrology is not one of the overarching subjects discussed in tradition as far as I know. It seems relatively arcane. If I were a parent, I probably still wouldn't care to delve into this topic too much. It is much easier for me to give a cursory explanation on it and why it should be avoided.

I don't want to condemn him. But I do think he needs to realize that with tradition's long history with Pablo in Pffeiferville, and now with this Fr. Hoopes incident, people rightfully have their guard up. I first registered on here in 2017 and I hardly posted then. I did not post for many years after that because I didn't feel like I fit in or contribute much. Maybe Carly needs to take a step back and post less. Who knows.
He already said:

"
I'm not recommending anyone get into astrology, I'm not into it myself I just know it as a side effect because of my interest in the medieval / sacramental worldview and mainly from the chapters on it in The Discarded Image.

Much more, lest I be misconstrued, do NOT ever get into divination, horoscopes, astrological sigils, spells, etc. and the modern popular form astrology, it's demonic and a mortal sin against the 1st commandment.

I'm open but I tend towards the idea that planets do influence men, I just don't think about it much because to me the it's negligible compared to other things like temperature.
I know "for the lulz" is slang but in more exact terms I just reject this soft materalist idea that God would create seven planets for no good reason and with no deeper purpose or significance, just to sit there and look pretty. I talked with Meg too about this a few months ago now, it just seems absurd to me that God would create deer, dolphins, giraffes, etc. for no good reason and with no deeper purpose or significance, just to look pretty and provide raw materials to do things.

My whole broader point was to attack the badly called Enlightenment worldview, defend the Sacramental / Symbolic worldview and to defend intellectual freedom and historical truth."

I would say the strongest evidence that cabbage and icarlytradcath are Fr. Hoopes is the strong and false claim that "Bill became a Thucist". Bill's favorite Bishops have been +Vigano and +Williamson. The LifeSiteNews article references Fr. Hoopes' claim about new theology of jursidiction - that came from Bp. Roy - who was a +Williamson line Bishop. icarly never responded when I pointed out that Bill continued to go to Fr. Hoopes' mass until Fr. Hoopes departed to the fire station by claiming there are "difficulties" in the Church. All of these priests and Bishops come from +Lefvebre, not +Thuc.

Besides, Fr. Hoopes' himself supports sedevacantist theology and "leans sede". So the claim that Bill would attempt to force Hoopes to be what he already claims to be is obviously false as well.

As shown in the LifeSiteNews article, one possible marker of Hoopes presence is that each person has been told a different story.

Moreover, cabbage and icarly are attempting to support the condemned judicial astrology book for "approved" divination purposes about the inclination of persons.

Also - this "Thucist" word seems to have originated from cabbage. The +Thuc line bishops, priests, and persons are not in the same organization, generally. The word is not helpful to the traditional catholic movement as it implies uniformity where it does not necessarily exist.
lol, lmao even

Is there anyone here who knows this priest well enough to provide evidence of his actions, rather than relying solely on a news article or internet hearsay?
It is a grave matter to publicly condemn a member of the clergy, and we must be reminded of the principles that govern our conduct as Catholics. The Church teaches that the reputation of one’s neighbor is a precious good, and this is especially true regarding those who hold the priestly office. To speak ill of a priest in public forums constitutes the sin of detraction if the information is revealed without a just cause, or calumny if the information is false or exaggerated.
I would not engage in such slandering for a Novus Ordo priest, nor for any lay person, let alone a traditional priest. We are bound by the law of charity toward all, regardless of their position or affiliation.
Even if a priest is found to be acting imprudently, the laity are not authorized to act as his judge or to publicly destroy his reputation. The Church is a hierarchical society, and the correction of the clergy belongs to their ecclesiastical superiors, not to the general public.
Furthermore, we must distinguish between the mere possession of an object and the commission of a sin. While the Church has long condemned the practice of astrology as a form of superstition that encroaches upon the sovereignty of God, assuming that the possession of a book equates to the practice of magic is a rash judgment.
To "disown" a priest or to treat his ministry as void because of personal suspicion is a grave error that harms the unity of the Church.
If there is a legitimate concern regarding the conduct of a priest, the proper course of action is not public denunciation, but private, fraternal correction. Let us be careful not to fall into the trap of public scandal, which serves only to weaken the faith of the simple and sow discord within the Mystical Body of Christ.

What you say is sound. I will only disagree about the hierarchy. There is no functioning hierarchy in the Church nowadays. Even priests who belong to groups, like the SSPX or CMRI, for instance, have no real superior. If you disagree, just look at what happens when they decide to leave: nothing, because there is no real authority to discipline them for abandoning their supposed "superiors".
These supposed superiors are of a merelu moral kind, and not real superiors like we had before Vatican II.
