Please explain to us your empathy & connection with Cabbage and Fr. Hoopes?

You were one of the only poll voters who didn't want Cabbage banned.
And now you want us to disregard evidence of a priest's involvement in sorcery.
Any literary research by Holy religious on sorcery should obviously come through approved Catholic resources, since direct works are cursed and dangerous to read.
Yeah, it's a big conspiracy, we're actually all the same person

I hadn't read the stuff about white magic when I posted that, just the book thing. It's certainly a bad choice of words but the examples don't really read as bad just quite medieval (and Catholic) if you know anything about medieval history. St Hildegard and Memento Mori / harvest.
I've noticed this with many trads that they're quite uncomfortable with many things from the Middle Ages, they don't realize that the danse macabre, marginalia or the sacramental view of herbs and stones and so on is just as Catholic as the 20th century accoutrements they so know and love.
It's that often repeated sentiment that since American Catholics felt the need to be respectable to their protestant fellow countrymen, so they slowly adopted many things, so much so that they suddenly become Pastor Bob when they see something like a traditional blessing against crop pests or a rabid dog, or any such medieval or old world practice and tradition.
They find it deeply superstitious and unbecoming, forgetting what came first.
With Tom I probably don't even agree on the main sticking points, I haven't looked into it because it doesn't personally touch my life but Thuc was probably a fine fella and his consecrations all valid, and SSPX-R is not the only valid choice of Mass.
I just hate bad logic and cognitive habits.
If the crux of the matter is "Were the Thuc consecrations all valid vis a vis his mind?", for Tom to say "I don't think they were since he acted quite erratically and strangely and I take that as a sign of a deranged mind" and try to bring up arguments, be they good or bad, is not slander or a sin, it's just one of the opinions on the question, just like when people argued whether Francis was a formal heretic, it's not slander, even though being a heretic is obviously bad.
And with banning it's just so dumb, it's a forum, people say things you disagree with or that are outright retarded, if y'all dislike him that much just IGNORE him, y'all relitigate the same stuff all the time you might as well say "Well, Tom, same time tomorrow"? Maybe Matthew could add Thuc matters to the Feeneyism ghetto, then people can just click ignore on that board
And with books, I have no horse in the race with Hoopes, but either priests can read heresiarchs and unorthodox books or they can't, but it can't depend on whether you like them or not.
