1. My trusted source informs me that Fr. Doran has, indeed, left the SSPX.
2. What Fr. Doran is doing now, or what he plans to do, is not yet known -- aside from the fact that he is currently living near family/where he's from.
3. Anyone who claims to know Fr. Doran's future plans is operating on speculation and/or rumor. See #2.

I wonder if he starts saying Mass if he will be denounced like other resistance priests and will have the other resistance priests telling people not to go tohis Mass because he is an SSPX infiltrator.
-
A cultured and learned man. When he came down to India some years ago he noticed that our chapel did not have a set of rose colored vestments, which he sent down to us as soon as he got back to Winona.
May God be with him.

I am not familiar with this priest. Is the assumption that his leaving SSPX means he will go Resistance? Or is it possible he could return to Novus Ordo/Indult?

Keep him in your prayers that he will make the right choice. I've known him in the past when he was the prior in Post Falls, ID during the growth years of that parish. He, along with the Dominicans, were responsible for attracting so many families to that area. He is a great priest.

He was one of the priests who said Mass at my chapel for a while up until last month. I don't think he would ever go to the Novus Ordo. I expect him to go independent and be like a resistance priest, but not with Father Pfeiffer's group. That is what Frances who also had him as her priest thought and I agree. But who knows.

He was once the Vice Rector to Bishop Williamson at Winona, so he could be considered a potential episcopal candidate .....

That would be interesting, indeed. Fr. Doran, if I am not mistaken, was also stationed for (?) years at Immaculate Conception Church in Post Falls, ID. It was before out time there.

Everything is pure speculation right now. For all we know, he simply left because he doesn't like New Orleans and/or Cajun food [not a fan myself].

Now THAT is slander! :ready-to-eat:

I don't really care myself whether Fr. Doran has left the Society or is still a priestly member. But one of you who does really care, why don't you call U.S. sspx headquarters and ask?

I can't imagine not being a fan of Cajun food. :confused1:
I have now discovered Cajun seasoning, which has become my favorite spice jar. It seems to have the rare power to improve the flavor of everything it touches.
To settle this question one could simply invite Fr. Doran to come to dinner, and offer to serve him Cajun - say, jambalaya - and find out what he has to say about it.
