"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

  • Here is an update:

"Father Diaz remains stable but critically ill. He is unable to be removed from the ventilator at this time so a tracheostomy will be placed on Monday. This will help to get him off the ventilator and allow him to move forward since remaining on the ventilator poses significant risks of lung damage and pneumonia. It can be removed as early as 6 weeks or when he has fully recovered. He will have a long road to recovery. I told his brother that many people are praying for this son of Mary and offering their Communions and small sacrifices for him. He and his family are grateful for everyone's thoughts and prayers. "

  • Another update:

Late Sunday night, Father Diaz coughed out his breathing tube and began breathing without difficulty. The decision was made to see how he did without it and he has done miraculously well throughout the day with minimal support. The doctors are optimistic that he will not need to be re-intubated and plans for a tracheostomy have been cancelled. By the grace of God, Father has cleared a major hurdle and hopefully he can now advance in his recovery. Blessed be God!
