Title: Fr. de Jorna Appointed French District Superior
Post by: X on July 16, 2018, 06:56:48 PM
Knowing the Resistance has cited his intervention at the 2012 General Chapter against the scandalous Doctrinal Declaration signed by Bishop Fellay, the SSPX has appointed Fr. de Jorna District Superior of the French District in the hopes of resettling the troops, and silencing its critics.

The apparent tactic or theme of this 2018 General Chapter is to feign a change of direction by moving past Bishop Fellay, and now appointing his accuser.

Meanwhile, the French Resistance is not fooled by this cunning political deployment:

"We're more and more disappointed in Fr. de Jorna. He had a little jump in the 2012 chapter, but everything returned to order since we never heard him say a word against the inversion of the ends of the fraternity on the question of the agreement with Rome (practical agreement without Rome's conversion).  His obstinate silence on the issue, and his acceptance of jurisdiction over marriages therefore earned him this change [assignment], a guarantee of his fidelity to the new policy...

This highly political change (but not very human) is also a rifle butt (Mgr de Galaretta) sent to the Dominican Fathers of Avrillé, and to the Seminary of St Louis Marie [SAJM].

It appears...that all the energy of Menzingen's new trio will be to try to break the Catholic resistance by presenting it with a reassuring facade; because "hard"... Some will get trapped, but not all...

In any case, not God and His Blessed Mother."

On another forum, this comment was made:

"I’m not surprised about Fr. de Jorna being appointed as the new District Superior of France.  It’s to throw the “conservatives” off their guard and to appease them (and confuse them) with an apparent “conservative” District Superior, while the SSPX continues its liberal direction. It was the same thing with Fr. de Cacqueray. He was seen as a “conservative” by the French, while the SSPX was compromising with Rome. This is a modernist tactic - mixing traditionalism/liberalism, truth/error, etc. to fool the conservatives with a conservative element while making them slide with the liberal element."

And Fr Karl Stehlin returns to Poland and is replaced in Singapore by Fr Patrick Summers.

Are the Dominican Fathers of Avrillé still with the SSPX?

No, but I think that quote references the attempt to draw support away from them, by feigning the appearance of a turning away from the ralliement which the SSPX hoped to convey by sticking Fr. de Jorna back in as French District Superior.

Thank you. I have been praying for those Dominicans that they would remain firm.
