"It is impious to say, 'I respect every religion.' This is as much as to say: I respect the devil as much as God, vice as much as virtue, falsehood as much as truth, dishonesty as much as honesty, Hell as much as Heaven."
Fr. Michael Muller, The Church and Her Enemies

  • Okay, here I am, the ubiquitous naysayer:  I cannot understand about 15% of
Fr. Hewko's words here, because the microphone was obviously at least 20
    feet away from his mouth.

While I appreciate the fact that the recording was made, this abiding presence
of compromised technology destroys once again my full comprehension of the
most desirable words of the speaking priest who is recorded therein.

Once again, the devil's penchant for disorientation is the victor.

In case whoever it was who made this defective recording would like to have
a clue as to the specific problem about which I'm talking, at minute 23:55 to
24:00, that is, over the period of FIVE SECONDS of recording time, I can
hear Fr. Hewko turn his head to the side, because suddenly the too-distant
microphone can pick up his voice much better, and during these 5 seconds,
which constitute a 50% improvement in the recording quality, his words
are, "...Our Lord will come down from Heaven on this altar..."  And then his
voice fades away again, telling me that he turned his head back toward the
congregation, and away from the direction of the too-distant microphone.
