Sorry to tell you Pax, but 'Holy Mother Church' has fallen under the spell of the Galilean Reformation so you will never see a return to tradition. You see Mother Church is ruled by men, prideful men, and no Catholic will ever return to, as Archbishop Lefebvre put it also, Her simple child like faith in the literal Genesis. There will be no going back to Holy Mother Church of 1616 when popes began to defend Genesis against pure false theory, man made 'science.' This is because in 1820 popes modernised Genesis rather than face down the Galilean heretics in the Church at the time. 32 years later Henry Newman now ready to be made a saint, laid out his revision of Scripture based on the 'lesson' of the Galileo case, and Catholicism was plunged into taking Darwinism and long ages as a probable truth.

But there were many other things churchmen did as a result of that terrible 'embarrassing' geocentric decree of 1616. Galileo was made look like a saint saving Scripture from false faith and science. And in order to prevent any further ERRORS due to false science like geocentrism, they ressurected Galileo's Lincean Academy, the bunch that promoted the fixed sun heresy in Galileo's time, as the Catholic Church's own SCIENTIFIC ACADEMY.

Pope Leo XIII was trapped by two decrees of popes that allowed the fixed-sun biblical heresy enter Mother Church. Thus Providentissimus deus had to accommodate this concession to 'science.' Oh yes, it was written to stop further attacks on Scripture and thus contains all the stuff you pointed out above. However, he had to cover what two popes had allowed, that heretical concession to a fixed sun Genesis.

'Hence they did not seek to penetrate the secrets of nature, but rather described and dealt with things in more or less figurative language, or in terms which were commonly used at the time, and which in many instances are in daily use at this day, even by the most eminent men of science.'

Yes, like sun rise and sun set! that is all they needed to carry on their concessions to man-made science. And that is why PD had no effect in stopping the reinterpretation of Scripture.

In 1936, Pope Pius XI renamed the Church's Academy as The Pontifical Academy of Sciences.

The goals and the hopes of the Academy, within the context of the dialogue between faith and science, were aired by Pius XI in his Motu Proprio which brought about its re-foundation:

‘Amongst the many consolations with which divine Goodness has wished to make happy the years of our Pontificate, I am happy to place that of our having being able to see not a few of those who dedicate themselves to the studies of the sciences mature their attitude and their intellectual approach towards religion.…. We promise again, and it is our strongly-held intention, that the “Pontifical Academicians,” through their work and our Institution, work ever more and ever more effectively for the progress of the sciences. Of them we do not ask anything else, since in this praiseworthy intent and this noble work is that service in favour of the truth that we expect of them.’[1]

Since Pius XII told this CHurch science advisory Academy that the Big Bang was God's creative act in 1952, there is not a chance in hell that you will ever see a return to tradition. Every one of the above popes praised Copernicus Galileo and modern science in their speeches not one dared challenge any science, all they did was try to make it fit in with Genesis. You see they wanted to look like they were SANE talking to the likes of Stephen Hawking the atheist.

Finally, to defend the Genesis of St Thomas it would mean admitting popes since 1741 got it wrong and allowed the flock to believe false philosophy. Pigs will fly before that happens, or rather Pope francis WILL BAPTISE A MARTIAN as he said he would before that happens. Fr Robinson then is only doing what Pius XII and every other pope since 1820 said he could do. Had one of them dogmatised something then that would have stopped it. But after the Galileo case, they made sure no more dogmas like geocentrism would happen.

There is ample scientific evidence that the earth is demonstrably much less than 100,000 years old, not at all the 4.5 billion or whatever claimed by the evolutionists. Let's review just a couple, (1) the fact of C14 (which has a half life of like less than 6000 years and therefore demonstrably will never survive beyond around 50-60,000 year or so, as even evolutionists admit in principle - though they give being found in the most ancient fossils and materials (2) the fact of soft tissue, hemoglobin, blood cells, sometimes even DNA being found in extremely ancient fossils. http://www.creationscience.com/onlinebook/AstroPhysicalSciences30.html

I don't know about hell, but I hold out hope that there is not only a chance, but a probability in heaven that after the Consecration of Russia ushers in a period of peace (perhaps, after an immense universal physical chastisement) many of the major errors circulating in the Church will be straightened out.

As for Francis, I wish he would think about baptizing some Jєωs, although in his book that might be considered anathema.

Likewise, no bones, buildings, artefacts, cloths etc., should be found older than the dates given in Genesis if the Bible is to be authentic. The usual method of dating such short-life (10,000 years maximum) things is Carbon-14 dating. This dating method however, relies on many assumptions to be accurate. For example, radio-carbon dating relies on two major assumptions: a 32,000-year cycle that may never have been if we do live in a 6,000+-year world: and no other carbon entered the system in its cycle. Even so, try as they did, no trace of any civilisation could be dated with certainty as being more than 5,000 years old. Dr Walter Libby, who won a Nobel Prize for his discovery of the Carbon-14 dating method, and who thought his discovery would reveal ‘prehistoric’ times, never found any human artefact older than 5,000 years.

“You read statements in books that such or such a society or archaeological site is 20,000 years old,” he commented, “but we learn rather abruptly that these numbers, these ancient ages, are not known accurately; in fact, it is about the first dynasty of Egypt that the first historical date of any real certainty has been established.”’ --- A. Catholics are to view science through the lens of their traditional and inerrant Catholic faith first and foremost, not to view their traditional and inerrant Catholic faith through the fallible lens of science. This is usually not a problem, but when scientific assertions conflict with our faith it is our unchanging faith which must hold sway, not the claims of science regardless of who endorses those scientific claims be they priests or popes.

As for macro evolution and for so much of what it entails, it has assumed for itself the characteristics of a false religion.

Galileo and the false-religion of science have been one of many trials and errors since the early 1500s, which was the start of the 5th age of the Church (an age that has been filled with trials and tribulations). I believe we are close to the 6th age, which will be a resurrection of the Church’s orthodoxy and eventually all errors from the past 5 centuries will be anathematized, including scientific errors.

Robinson, Banezian, McFarland, and other posters here who have such a worshipful adoration of modern science, that they jump at the chance to side with it against the Divinely revealed Word of God, all I can think of is the prophecy of Venerable Bartholomew Holzhauser concerning our time:

They will ridicule Christian simplicity; they will call it folly and nonsense, but they will have the highest regard for advanced knowledge, and for the skill by which the axioms of the law, the precepts of morality, the Holy Canons and religious dogmas are clouded by senseless questions and elaborate arguments. As a result, no principle at all, however holy, authentic, ancient, and certain it may be, will remain free of censure, criticism, false interpretations, modification, and delimitation by man.

I fear such people would doubt the dogma of the Assumption of Our Lady if some scientist claimed to have found her body.

These men sorely lack the simple Faith of children that Our Lord so dearly loves.

The latest Kolbe Reporrt is very interesting. It begins:

We are hearing a great deal about the mass exodus of Catholic youth out of the Catholic Church, and various researchers have been interviewing young adults who have left the Church to discover when and why they lost the Faith. One prominent researcher at Georgetown University who has conducted numerous interviews with young Catholics who have left the Church has noted that one of the main reasons they give for leaving the Church is the apparent conflict between "science" and the Bible and the traditional teaching of the Church. His prescription for reversing the trend entails hiring more teachers who can integrate Big Bang cosmology and evolutionary biology into the curricula of Catholic schools, thus demonstrating to students that there is no conflict between faith and reason.

But, as we often say, the claim that more Big Bang cosmology and evolutionary biology in Catholic schools would stop the mass exodus of youth out of the Catholic Church rings as hollow as Planned Parenthood's claim that what we need to put a stop to teen pregnancies and abortions is more sex education - that if we only had sex education in every school in the world from nursery school to university, we would soon see an end to unwanted pregnancies! In both cases, the "solution" not only will not solve the problem; it is the problem! Indeed, almost all Catholic schools and universities throughout the western world have been teaching Big Bang cosmology and evolutionary biology for more than fifty ears. What is needed is not more indoctrination of Catholic students into evolutionary mythology but a return to teaching the true Catholic doctrine of creation as the foundation of the Faith.

In the Diocese of Arlington, Virginia, our friend and colleague Tom McFadden has reported on recent efforts by the diocesan leadership to stop or at least to slow the mass exodus of Catholics out of the Church. In a recent email he wrote that, according to an article in the diocesan newspaper, Mass attendance as of January 10, 2018, was 37% but has declined to 29.7% in the space of a year.

It was Tom McFaddon who gave me books on creation that converted me, an evolutionist since my proud school days, to a life defending the literasl Genesis. But here see how many souls have been lost due to atheistic 'science.' (Cassini)

Commenting on this current drop to 29.7%, our Bishop said: "The results of the second annual October Mass count show us that we should be grateful for the continued faithful participation of so many, but we can't be complacent in our efforts to increase participation in Sunday Mass."

We would be encouraged to know exactly what efforts he instituted in the last year to show lack of complacency. One of his good-intentioned initiatives is sending a three-man team of his employees around to talk at parishes on the subject of "Practical Catechetics." I attended one of these in Winchester today. The purpose of their mission, they said, was to arm attendees with information to answer what Gen Z people (born after 1995) give as reasons for skepticism or loss of faith. It is not apparent that they "field tested" their presentation on Gen Z skeptics to see how convincing they were. Naturally, the team would be well received in any parish as representatives of the Bishop by an older generation of attendees who attend because all three presenters are very likable and most sincere. I assume the evaluation sheets attendees fill out afterward are pretty positive. Two of the speakers do no harm even though their presentations do not answer the questions they attempt to answer for the benefit of Gen Z skeptics. One wonders who worked with them to critique the presentation before it was rolled out and taken on the road.

The third speaker on the subject of Faith and Science is an absolute menace to faith despite being likable and sincere. During the Q & A I asked him enough questions that it was obvious (to me at least) that he not only knew little of his subject but also distorted and misrepresented the teaching of the Church. He presented the theory of evolution as if it was a fact and completely in line with Church teaching. His explanation of the theory of evolution consisted of a slide with brown and white bears. That was it. One slide with just brown and white bears. It was embarrassing. Yet, he asserted (contrary to truth) that Pope Pius XII had clarified that "no opposition exists between evolution and the doctrine of faith about man." He also asserted falsely that speeches that two Popes gave to the Pontifical Academy of Sciences are part of the Magisterium, meaning that they were authoritative teaching for the belief of the universal church. I tried asking more questions, but I was cut off for monopolizing the questions. (Nobody else who was there appeared to have a clue regarding the stuff that was presented).

He was one of eleven children of Leonard and Catherine Holzhauser – poor, pious, and honest people. His father plied the trade of shoemaker and was barely able to support his family. Young Bartholomew developed a great love of books and an earnest desire to enter the Sacred Ministry. At Augsburg he was admitted to a fee school for poor boys, arning his living by singing at the doors and begging. He fell sick of an epidemic then raging and after his recovery went home and helped his father at work. Then with the aid of kind friends and especially of the Jesuits, he continued his studies at Neuburg and Ingolstadt. He received the degree of Doctor of Philosophy, then studied theology, in which he merited the baccalaureate on 11 th May 1639. He was ordained priest by the Bishop of Eichstatt, and said his first Mass on Pentecost Sunday 12th June 1639. Many wonderful things are related of him, extraordinary cures and the like. Lately a petition has been drawn up at Rome for his canonization.

“The fifth period of the Church, which began circa 1520, will end with the arrival of the holy Pope and of the powerful Monarch who is called "Help From God" because he will restore everything [in Christ]…” 1

“The fifth period is one of affliction, desolation, humiliation, and poverty for the Church. Jesus Christ will purify His people through cruel wars, famines, plagues, epidemics, and other horrible calamities. He will also afflict and weaken the Latin Church with many heresies. It is a period of defections, calamities and exterminations. Those Christians who survive the sword, plague and famines, will be few on earth. Nations will fight against nations and will be desolated by internecine dissensions…” 2

“During this period the Wisdom of God guides the Church in. several ways: 1) by chastising the Church so that riches may not corrupt her completely; 2) by interposing the Council of Trent like a light in the. darkness, so that the Christians who see the light may know what to. believe, 3) by setting St. Ignatius and his Society in opposition to Luther. and other heretics; 4) by carrying to remote lands the Faith which has been banned in most of Europe…” 3

“Are we not to fear during this period that the Mohamedans will come again working out their sinister schemes against the Latin church…” 4

“During this period, many men will abuse of the freedom of conscience conceded to them. It is of such men that Jude the Apostle spoke when he said, ‘These men blaspheme whatever they do not understand; and they corrupt whatever they know naturally as irrational animals do… They feast together without restraint, feeding themselves, grumbling murmurers, walking according to their lusts; their mouth speaketh proud things, they admire people for the sake of gain; they bring about division, sensual men, having not the spirit.’” 5

“During this unhappy period, there will be laxity in divine and human precepts. Discipline will suffer. The Holy Canons will be completely disregarded, and the Clergy will not respect the laws of the Church. Everyone will be carried away and led to believe and to do what he fancies, according to the manner of the flesh…” 6

“They will ridicule Christian simplicity; they will call it folly and. nonsense, but they will have the highest regard for advanced knowledge, and for the skill by which the axioms of the law, the precepts of morality, the Holy Canons and religious dogmas are clouded by senseless questions and elaborate arguments. As a result, no principle at. all, however holy, authentic, ancient, and certain it may be, will remain free of censure, criticism, false interpretation, modification, and delimitation by man…” 7

“These are evil times, a century full of dangers and calamities.. Heresy is everywhere, and the followers of heresy are in power almost everywhere. Bishops, prelates, and priests say that they are doing their. duty, that they are vigilant, and that they live as befits their state in life. In like manner, therefore, they all seek excuses. But God will permit a great evil against His Church: Heretics and tyrants will come suddenly and unexpectedly; they will break into the Church while bishops, prelates and priests are asleep. They will enter Italy and lay Rome waste; they will burn down the churches and destroy everything.…” 8

“The Sixth Age of the Spirit commences with the powerful Monarch and the Holy Pontiff as previously mentioned and will last until the appearance of the Antichrist This sixth epoch of the church – “the time of consolation” begins with the Holy Pope and the Powerful Emperor and terminates with the reign of Antichrist. This will be an age of solace wherein God will console His church after the many mortifications and afflictions she has endured in the Fifth period, for all nations will be brought to the unity of the True catholic faith. The sacerdocy will flower more than ever, and men will seek the kingdom of God in all solicitude. The Lord will give good pastors to the Church. Vocations will be abundant as never before and all men will seek only the kingdom of God and His justice . Men will live peace and this will be granted because people will make their peace with God. They will live under the protection of the Great Monarch and his successors….” 9

“The Great Monarch will come when the Latin Church is desolated, humiliated, and afflicted with many heresies…” 10

“The Sixth Epoch of the World, which commences with the emancipation of the people of Israel and the restoration of the Temple and of the city of Jerusalem, will endure until the advent of Jesus Christ…For likewise, in this epoch, the people of Israel will be consoled to a very high degree by the Lord, our God, who will deliver them from the captivity of Babylon. The kingdoms, the nations, and the people will submit to the Roman Empire, furiously vanquished by the very powerful and very illustrious monarch who will govern during fifty-six years, rendering the peace of the universe and reigning alone until the advent of Jesus Christand even after him. Thus, in the Sixth Age, God will delight his Church with the greatest prosperity…” 11

“The “angel” is the Great Monarch: “from heaven” means he will be a catholic: “clothed in clouds” implies he will be humble and modest; “rainbow” he will bring peace to the world; “sunshine” refers to his wisdom, talents and title; “feet” refers to his power and zeal; “Open book” he will rule with justice “Right and left foot” he will exercise power over all the world; “Lion Voiuce” he will put fear into the wicked. The “Golden Crown” refers to his Holy Roman (German) Empire; “Cutlass” means his victorious army; the other “angel” refers to the pope (Angelic pastor). “Other angels” are the other helpers of the Great Monarch who will help him crush the Turks…”12

“During the fifth period we saw only calamities and devastation, oppression of Catholics by tyrants and heretics, executions of kings and cօռspιʀαcιҽs to set up republics but by the hand of God almighty there occurs so wonderful a change during the sixth period that no one can humanly visualize it. The powerful Monarch, who is sent from God, will uproot every Republic. He will submit everything to this authority and he will show great zeal for the true church of Christ. The empire of the Mohamedans will be broken up and the monarch will reign in the east as well as in the west. All nations will come to worship God in the true and Catholic Roman faith. There will be many saints and doctors of the church on earth. Peace will reign over the whole earth because God will bind Satan for a number of years before the days of the Son of Perdition.

No one will be able to pervert the word of God since during the sixth period there will be an ecuмenical council which will be the greatest of all councils. By the grace of God, by the power of the great Monarch, by the authority of the holy pontiff and by union of all the most devout princes atheism and every heresy will be banished from the earth. The council will define the true sense of Holy Scripture and this will be beloved and accepted by everyone.” 13

“When everything has been ruined by war; when Catholics are hard pressed by traitorous co-religionists and heretics, then the Hand of Almighty God will work a marvellous change, something apparently impossible according to human understanding. There will rise a valiant monarch anointed by God. He will be a Catholic, a descendant of Louis IX, yet a descendant of an ancient imperial German family, born in exile.

He will rule supreme in temporal matters. The Pope will rule supreme in spiritual matters at the same time. Persecution will cease and justice shall rule. Religion seems to be suppressed, but by the changes of entire kingdoms it will be made more firm….He will root out false doctrines and destroy the rule of Moslemism. His dominion will extend from the East to the West. All nations will adore God their Lord according to the Catholic teaching. There will be many wise and just men. The people will love justice, and peace will reign over the whole earth, for divine power will bind Satan for many years until the coming of the Son of Perdition.” 14

“The reign of the Great Ruler may be compared with that of Caesar Augustus who became Emperor after his victory over his enemies, thereby giving peace to the world, also with the reign of Constantine the Great, who was sent by God, after severe persecution, to deliver both the Church and State. By his victories on water and land he brought the Roman Empire under subjection which he then ruled in peace” 15

“On account of a terrible war Germany will wail, France will be the cause of all the woe, Germany will be terribly wounded, all will be impoverished. England shall suffer much. The King shall be killed.“ 16

“After desolation has reached its peak in England, peace will be restored and England will return to the Catholic faith with greater fervour than before….” 17

“The Great Monarch will have the special help of God and be unconquerable…”18 “The Fifth Epoch of time dates from the reign of Charles V until the reign of the Great Monarch…” 19

“[After a world war] will come a new period, in which two mighty ones will face each other. The wrangle between these two will begin in the second half of the twentieth century. It will overthrow mountains and silt up rivers. A great change will come to pass, such as no mortal man will have expected; Heaven and Hell will confront each other in this struggle, old states will perish and light and darkness will be pitted against each other with swords, but it will be swords of a different fashion. With these swords it will be possible to cut up the skies and split the earth. A great lament will come over all mankind and only a small batch will survive the storm, the pestilence and the horror. And neither of the two adversaries will conquer nor be vanquished. Both mighty ones will lie on the ground, and a new mankind will come into existence. God possesses the key to everything. Blessed is he who will then be able to praise him, having obeyed all his commandments. And the great monarch of the world will create new laws for the new mankind and will cause a new age to begin, in which there will be only one flock and one shepherd, and peace will be of long, long duration, for the glory of God in heaven and on earth…” 20

“Now the Great Monarch also will dominate over all the beasts of the earth, that is to say over the barbarian nations, over the rebellious peoples, over the heretic republics and over all men dominated by their evil passions…”21

“It is in that age that the relation of the sixth Spirit of the Lord will be known, that is to say the Spirit of Wisdom that God diffuses over all the surfaces of the globes in those times. For men will fear the Lord their God, they will observe the law and serve it with all their heart. The sciences will be multiplied and complete on the earth. The Holy Scriptures will be unanimously understood, without controversy and without the errors of heresies. Men will be enlightened, so much as in the natural sciences and in the celestial sciences…” 22

“Finally, the Sixth Church, the Church of Philadelphia, is the type of this sixth age, for Philadelphia signifies friendship of brothers, and again guarding the heritage in union with the Lord. Now all these characters convene perfectly in the sixth age, in which they will have love, concord and perfect peace and in which the powerful Monarch will have to consider almost the entire world as his heritage. He will deliver up the earth, with the aid of the Lord his God from all his enemies, of ruin and of all evil…” 23

Antichrist

“Antichrist will come as the Messiah from a land between two seas in the East. He will be born in the desert; his mother being a prostitute to the Jєωs and Hindus; he will be a lying and false prophet and will try to ride to heaven like Elias. He will begin work in the East, as a soldier and preacher of religion when thirty years old. Antichrist and his army will conquer Rome, kill the Pope and take the throne. He will restore the Turkish regime destroyed by the Great Monarch. The Jєωs, knowing from the Bible that Jerusalem will be the seat of the Messiah, will come from everywhere and accept Antichrist as the Messiah. He will be able to fly. His flight will take place from Mt. Calvary. He will tell the crowd he is going after Henoch and Elias (who has arisen from the dead) in order to kill them again...
