Fr. Anthony Ward

Apparently he has had a small group in Colorado for 40 years.

Anyone know if he is sedevacantist?

From 8 months ago, below is the answer they gave in the bottom comment from youtube video of theirs:

"Hello Paul, We are not sure where you heard that our community is sedevacantist, but unfortunately your source was incorrect. We have never once claimed to be sedevacantist.  If you would like to find out where we actually stand on this matter and others, please feel free to contact us through our website (www.servi.org), and we would be happy to speak with you. God Bless".

Thank you, Stubborn.

After I started this thread, I found the other one began in 2014 by Obscurus.

I wish there were more information about this community publicly available, because their area (Colorado) is a Resistance wasteland, and if it could be shown that their priests were ordained in the traditional Rite by bishops consecrated in the traditional Rite, their apostolate might be an option for people out there.

The other thread contains unverified assertions that their priests were ordained in the old Rite, but by bishops consecrated in the new Rite.

And if that is true, then these priests would all have to be conditionally ordained.

I also have no idea what their position is regarding the crisis in the sspx.

But I am interested in getting to the bottom of all this, in case they are an option.

Why not give them a call? If Fr. Ward is the same man he was when he was with the SSPX, I'd be very surprised if he'd have anything to do with any other group, resistance or otherwise, but heck, who knows, surely it'd be worth a call I think.

I can only guess, but I think he doesn't really give a hoot about what goes on in the SSPX, my opinion is he remains happily Independent since he left them, and since he's been like that for +40 years, has no intention of changing. I still think it's at least worth a phone call.

I knew him in the early nineties.  He wasn't a sede  back then, and I doubt he is today.
If you write and/or call his group, Servants of the Holy Family, I have no doubt that will happily answer your question(s).
