I know this has been a topic probably sometime ago and I just missed it. Matthew can probably archive this to that thread. Anyway, just saw this development from 'The Catholic Resistance' Facebook page. I can't believe the SSPX would abandon such a beautiful church! They've been showing off the nice churches they've acquired, yet something must have happened here.

Absolutely sacrilegious.

When I lived in Louisville, I used to occasionally make the trek to this church, mainly because it was by far, the biggest and most beautiful "trad chapel" I had ever seen in my life. It was in a very bad area of the city though.

This is a terrible tragedy but shows the reality of people, and there are many in addition these, who take pride and glory in offending God.

Wasn’t this replaced with the priory in Walton, KY?  I don’t know the particulars, but before we rashly condemn it as sacrilege, I’m sure the building was properly deconsecrated.  ThecSSPX May be sliding, but I doubt they handed it over for use as a nightclub without removing all the Holy items.  It could very well be that the building had structural or other problems we armchair critics know nothing about.  I love old, untouched churches, but realize it takes big bucks to maintain an old building, much less to fix it up.
