Title: +Fellay criticizes the 1962 Liturgy
Post by: Clarinha on January 06, 2022, 10:16:31 PM
Bishop Fellay preaching at Ordinations this morning on the feast of the Epiphany.

“Already in the reform of ‘62, that is under John XXIII, a lot of elements of this feast have been … we could say they have degraded the feast. They have taken away the vigil, they have taken away the octave, they have made it a lower feast than Christmas.”

Ironically, in 2019 (?) when Rome allowed most Ecclesia Dei churches to use the old Holy Week, all SSPX priests received an instruction from Menzingen that they should not use the old HW, and should keep using the new.

Source: my priest at that time (SSPX).

Any chances SSPX will start using pre-55 liturgy?

No.

Fr. Pagliarani just said that he's waiting for Francis/Rome to come knocking some day.

In that case, he'll be paralyszed by that hope from doing anything which could distance them any further from Rome in the meantime (Yes, my hopes from his previous speech on relations with Rome are somewhat dashed by his subsequent performance on the vax, causing me to now see that aforementioned comment in this current light), as would moving to the pre-55 Missal.

That holds true for countless other issues too, like the vax, branding/bland sermons, muzzled from the combat for the faith, etc.

You almost have to admire Francis's chessmanship:

With Fr. Pagliarani showing his cards, Francis can run amok without ever having to worry about what the SSPX will say or do.  That puppy is tied to a tree it can never escape from, so long as legal recognition remains it's primary occcupation.  In fact, it doesn't even need the rope.

He was talking out of both sides of his mouth.

The SSPX has elevated the 1962 Liturgy and defended it for decades despite the fact, Msgr. Bugnini used it to desecrate Holy Week.

Bp. Fellay apparently likes to genuflect for the jєωs, even though our Church Fathers refused to do it.

That's sad...

Good take on the situation.

The SSPX is very much still primarily concerned with AUTHORITY rather than TRUTH -- they want NUMBERS. As long as they keep feeding that fatal flaw of theirs, they're underwater and no danger to any Modernist.

They're also concerned with PR.  They don't want to "appear" rebellious or kooky or fringe.  They need slick PR not only to attract people to their chapels (and finance their expensive building projects) but they don't want to rub Rome the wrong way to make themselves seem like "Pelagians" (as Bergoglio mistakenly called them, meaning something like Jansenists).

And it's working as they planned.  Catholic Answers (catholic.com) was at The Angelus Conference and wholeheartedly endorsed Fr. Pagliarani's equivocations regarding the jab.  They've hit the "mainstream" now.

That's the lesson they learned after the Bishop Williamson fallout.  Let's never embrace another fringe "conspiracy theory".  Let's mobilize Fr. Robinson to show that we're behind modern science and not some nutty creationists or geocentrists.  And heaven forbid speak about the Jєωs or the nєω ωσrℓ∂ σr∂єr or anything like that.

So we have the neo-SSPX opening the doors of the SSPX to the world, inevitably with the same outcome as when this was tried before.  No more "prophets of doom" and gloom in the Society.  We just smile for the cameras, act all nithe and "normal".

You nailed it Lads

We’re living through the fruits of Bp. Fellay’s sellout to the Max Krah ʝʊdɛօ-masonics.

Kinda funny Max Krah was mentioned here. He now rejects the papacy of Bergoglio.

Maxie does trendy things:

He now thinks the Seat is vacant.

But he always thought that the only unforgiven sin is… anti-semitism.
