 Dear friends,

A few days ago, I told you sources in the Vatican said the Pope will follow the path of 1988 with regards to the SSPX episcopal consecrations. It was from a Rorate Coeli article.

 Yesterday, LifeSiteNews had more details:

Cardinal Fernandez has already prepared a docuмent of excommunication and schism. It is not certain if it will include all members of the SSPX, or even also the faithful supporting the SSPX.

In response, Bishop Fellay said, in a sermon in St. Mary's Kansas:
“I prefer not to be a prophet here, but I’m pretty sure that there is an enormous probability that all of you, we included, may be excommunicated, declared in schism, there is a very high probability because they already said it in public. So, they are, so to say, forcing themselves to do it. But whatever, God can do miracles. It’s not the end,” Fellay said.

Bishop Fellay invoking a miracle in Rome reminds a lot of us, I am sure, of the miracles he hoped for when starting two Rosary Crusades: for the freedom of the Traditional Mass and the lifting of the 1988 Excommunications.

You may also recall how fast he was in declaring that the miracles had happened, and how we should thank the BVM in public.

In this, he was clearly misleading the people and offending the BVM. Indeed, Our Lady cannot give us poisoned gifts. It is impossible.

Yet, the 2007 Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificuм was a bad docuмent. Indeed, it officially declared the True Mass to be less good for the Church than the Novus Ordo, as it declares the latter as the Ordinary Form of the Roman Liturgy, and the TLM as an exception, an "Extraordinary" form. And it still let the local bishops have power over the actual implementation of the Motu Proprio.

As for the 2009 decree "lifting" of the Excommunications, it never retracted the 1988 Decree itself. It never acknowledged the excommunications were invalid in the first place. It never wiped the slate clean. It simply said that, in a gesture of good will, the Vatican will stop the EFFECT of the decree. In other words: The decree still exists, but its application is suspended. In a civil criminal case, it would be: "Your conviction of a grave crime is still valid but, in a paternal gesture, we free you from jail." It is not at all a declaration of innocence and of wrongful conviction.

As you can see, both the 2007 and 2009 Roman decisions can hardly be seen as miraculous answers and gifts from the BVM in response to the Rosary Crusades.

Now, since February 02 this year, we have this big show going on between the SSPX and Rome.

The SSPX pretends to be back on track in the footsteps of Archbishop Lefebvre, even if it means facing an Excommunication and a declaration of schism like in 1988.

Rome pretends that all is ready for this. The only thing needed is a signature on a parchment.

Both sides are keen to repeat to all and sundry that a clash is inevitable. Conservative Cardinals, bishops, priests, and pundits all say that such a clash must be avoided, that a solution must be found before it is too late. That it would be an enormous tragedy for the whole Church.

The goal of this show is to keep us at the edge of our seats, gulping for air, wiping our brows on the one hand, and clutching our Rosary beads with the other....

But now Bishop Fellay, the same sleazy man who tried to pull wool over our eyes in 2007 and 2009, says that maybe God will make a miracle!

Is he preparing us to see as a miracle a "merciful and compassionate" act of the Pope which, in fact, was already decided months ago as the final act of the show that started on February 2nd?

To me, the true miracle would be that the SSPX and its faithful would be excommunicated from the Conciliar Church, and WOULD REMAIN SO.

Indeed, to be declared as having no communion with a heretic Church that is in schism with the Tradition of the Catholic Church, that would be a badge of Honour and of True Catholicism!

We could put behind our backs all the shenanigans worked out by Bp Fellay and his cronies (who are still at the helm of the SSPX) since the foundation of the GREC in 1997 to this day.

Now that the situation between the Conciliar Church and the SSPX would be clear and well defined, we could restore our hopes in the future of the True Church.

Well, we shall see soon enough...

Meanwhile, the show is going on, friends. Keep the popcorn warm and the beer cold!

 Fr. Girouard
