  • Good on Fr Pfeiffer for this. Even in Ireland girls have started to not wear a veil and wear trousers.

  • On First Saturday recently I saw a young "lady" wearing a tube top to Mass.  At the SSPX.  No joke.  I was shocked.

The XSPX has the same modus operandi as the conciliarists:

They make statements in support of modesty, but they insist on tolerance towards immodesty, and intolerance to those who exert peer pressure that it be practiced in church.

The youth of the neo-SSPX are a few years removed from being indistinguishable from the WYD crowds.

  • We won't go to ICC anymore because it's like a red light district.

  • This is an excellent sermon - the title does not do it justice. It covers a lot of ground- why Mary? - St Maximillian Kolbe - why Mary feeds constantly vs Our Lord feeds fully - Bsp T de M decries Fatima etc.

The concept of Modernism in the SSPX is dealt with in the last three minutes.

I strongly recommend this sermon for anyone who loves Our Lady (which should be all of us).

Nice to see that Father Pfeiffer has adoped a biretta. Someone commented a while back that the best priests use a biretta.

  • I used to think that the end of the world could be years from now, but seeing how the youth in our parishes have been so overtaken by the spirit of the world (pants, immodest fashion, music, etc.), I now think that we could be in the last days.

When I look at these young people and their modern, liberal spirit, I think to myself, "There is NO way that they will be able to continue where we've left off. There faith is to weak."

    It's scary to see.

Don't despair--a new generation is being raised up in the Resistance.

Who gave this sermon the title?  Not Fr. Pfeiffer!  I spoke with him a few hours ago.  Change it to
"Fr. Pfeiffer; Praise for the Immaculata."  Charity in action.

Re: SSPX decline in modesty; It isn't just women's clothing.  The men are guilty, too.  There is general lack of reverence.  The priest who dares to correct his flock is silenced by threats with transfer to the jungle or the South Pole to convert the monkeys and the penguins.
St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Oops! There was grammatical error in my last post. I meant to say,  "THEIR faith is TOO weak."

This is true. I see more and more young men and teen-aged boys wearing jeans and t-shirts at Sunday Mass.

  • Firstly, it isn't as if the SSPX clergy are not speaking out against this sort of thing. I know of a good number who do.

What I hate is shallow minded trad Catholics confronting first timers who don't know any better and putting them off ever coming back to Mass. I think we have to be very careful.

To give credit where it is due, I think from my own (limited) experience and travels most SSPX chapels I have seen, seem to be making an effort.

I think we need to encourage the good people who are making an effort, and avoid making these constant generalizations.

Yes, when I saw that grammatical error it really scared me, too!

There is a CMRI chapel nearby where the dress code is plainly
written for all to see in the Sunday bulletin, and it's the same
week after week.  It says to not wear any clothing with
company logos or product advertisements in prominent view.
So there's this one man who always rides a motorcycle and
he always has a big old Harley-Davidson design on the back
of his leather jacket that he wears to Mass.  It's really a bit
like being in the Twilight Zone or the Outer Limits.

I was a bit scandalized to see an advertisement online for a
T-shirt design that says eringobraless on it, instead of Erin Go
Bragh!  It's really sad to see our culture go down the drain.

11 years ago when I arranged for a TLM for my father's
Requiem Mass, my cousins and aunts came who were
nieces and sisters of my father, all Catholics, but all Newchurch.
I asked them to please bring a veil or borrow one that I had
supplied at the door.  None of them did so.  Even one that I
had socialized with a lot as teens, looked at me when I asked
her and turned and walked into the chapel with pants and no
veil.  They think they're making a political statement.

They all STOOD UP for the Consecration.  Hardly anyone knelt
for anything at all.  Most of them didn't know when to keel or
stand.  My friends who are TLM regulars came but they were
seated in the back rows, where the Newchurchers toward
the front couldn't see them.  so there were a bunch of people
in the back rows doing a lot of keeling and almost everyone
in the front rows were sitting or standing all the time, as if they
were all protestants, although only two or three were
    "officially" protestant.

My aunt, my cousin's mother, told me that her husband, who
had passed away a few years previous, "would have loved to
have a traditional Mass for his funeral."  I wanted to tell her
that my father would have loved to have her wear a veil at HIS
    funeral.

Sometimes common decency prohibits saying the obvious!

I had no response to her, at all.  She is my aunt, and I've known
her all my life, but at that moment I had utterly nothing to say.
This was alarming to me, but it happened.

  • The people here complaining that touchy people are "offended" because they don't dress for mass really take the cake.  What's obvious to me is the liberal SSPX has given up on this issue and while some words may be said from time to time to placate the people who are upset it's no different than what the conciliarists do to make people think they care when really they don't.

If the SSPX really cared, this would not be a problem.

They have no compunction about throwing innocent people out of church, but they think because there might be someone overzealous that there must not be enforcement of basic standards!

A miserable excuse, especially when we see how many support the laxity and despise opposition to it.
