A friend of mine has met him. He’s an independent traditional priest not affiliated to any resistance group. A good guy by all accounts.

Can you give us any more information about him? His ordination for example, and whether or not he is sedevacantist? I have never heard of him outside of Mother Irene's newsletters and she would not answer my email queries about him. In the past she has used sedevacantist priests in no way connected with the SSPX-Resistance. If he is truly 'Resistance', the faithful have a right to know these things. If those in authority and the priests concerned refuse to answer such questions, the presumption must be that they are not truly Resistance and their ordinations are doubtful.

Fr Elias is based in Wales. He was conditionally ordained by the late Bp Williamson, before that he was a parish priest in the UK. He is an independent traditional priest. He does not affiliate himself with any resistance group though is friends with Sr Irene in Cork, Ireland and says occasional masses in Ireland. I know all this through a friend who is in Wales and met him.

We don’t go to resistance but my friend in Wales says Fr Elias is a great priest. He sells his own rosaries and religious items to finance himself and did have a gofundme. He was conditionally ordained by Bp Williamson however Bp Morgan has had some disagreement with him and told my friend not to contact him. This is the divided state of the UK resistance group unfortunately! Another reason to avoid UK and Ireland resistance… as well as the obvious reason of course.

You can only avoid the remnant if there is some perversity taking place that makes attendance practically impossible.
Your "friend" in question barely comes to any resistance Masses anyway. It was a completely ridiculous reason invented by some individuals who most of use could scarcely consider one of us, to not go to Father Elias. Total scrupulosity. Sadly though that scrupulosity is encouraged by certain clergy of ours for their own ends. I'm sorry you seemed scandalized. All I can do is beg you to reconsider.
