Not sure why I am getting confused about this in 2013, but:
1) Traditionally, Catholics abstained from meat on Holy Saturday;
2) Traditionally, Catholics fasted on Holy Saturday until the after the Vigil;
3) But, since the regrettable 1956 modernizations of Bugnini/Pius XII, the Vigil is (at least in SSPX chapels) moved to night.
Question:
If the Vigil is at night, are we to maintain the fast until after the Vigil (which is usually followed by midnight Mass, carrying us into Easter)?
If so, ironically, this modernization imposes a much stricter obligation of fasting than the ancient rite, which would have caused the fast to cease around noon.
