Father Hewko is also known for his piety ... but the prudence has been very much lacking.

From Dom Chautard's, The Soul of the Apostolate: “If the priest is a saint (the saying goes) the people will be fervent; if the priest is fervent, the people will be pious; if the priest is pious, the people will at least be decent. But if the priest is only decent, the people will be godless. The spiritual generation is always one degree less intense in its life than those who beget it in Christ.”

It has also been said that "a priest who is not holy is a monster in the order of grace" (Rt. Rev. Francis Mary Paul Liberman) as quoted in his published with canonical approval Spiritual Letters.  Liberman (1802-1852) was a Jєωιѕн Convert (baptized on 12-24-1826).  He founded the Congregation of the Immaculate Heart of Mary and was declared Venerable by Pope Pius IX in 1876.  (See http://www.newadvent.org/cathen/09223a.htm.)

A priest who is heavily inclined to a life of piety is best off in a monastery, not in missionary or parish work.  I predict a rough road ahead for Fr. Poisson in Boston.  Pablo will walk all over him.  Hopefully, he will either run afoul of Fr. Pfeiffer and get kicked out or he will come to his senses and flee while he is still able.

Fr Poisson's Marian devotion is not a schtick. It's who he is. He is about as "schtick-like" as the Cure of Ars.
I think what people are missing is that he truly does not have the taint of the world in him. He is completely divested of it. I can't tell you to believe it, but Fr Poisson is one holy priest.
Is that an advantage or disadvantage? Certainly it could be both as long as he is still terrestrial.
He is in a bad place in Kentucky, admitted, and he probably wound up there in his naivete not being aware of better circuмstances. He will welcome and tolerate  much suffering, but he is not easily controlled in his devotion, and that will certainly be a rub at some point in Pfeifferville.
I am just praying that he is able to get out of that web. We all should be praying for it. This man deserves it.

If you believe he deserves better than Pfeifferville and you know how to contact him, you should, because he said that he trusts that if he needs to know something, Our Lady will send him the right person(s) at the right time.
