  • Today's Conference...

    "Wrong interpretation..."

ABL said, "Rome will come to us..."

"Bp. W. was supposed to retire, therefore he's disobedient."

"Bp. W. & Fr. Pfeiffer are 'on the rampage.'"

"Fr. Pfeiffer misinterprets St. Thomas Aquinas."

"Trying to divide and destroy the Society..."

IMPLIED that Resistance are all Sedevacantists or close to it.

"Must understand the difference between doctrinal prudence and practical prudence."

"They (Resistance) are trying to come here.  They've contacted some of our people.  If anyone is bothering you, I want to know about it.  Come and talk to me."

"Last year was a purification for the Society."

"We are no longer waiting for Rome to come and talk.  We're going to them."

"There is no change.  We're not changing on DOCTRINE, just on a few areas of practical prudence...You will never see the new mass here."

IMO, this priest REALLY BELIEVES that many people are currently staying in n.o. for fear of
being outside of Church will "flock to us in massive numbers once the Society is regularized.". "We have to be ready to receive these souls.".

"They have a history of problems with authority..."

"We recognize [the local bishop] as the legal authority, but for moral authority, we have our Superior General, Bp. Fellay..."

IMO, the laity are not innocent.  Is this not deserved in many chapels?  The sad part is the wounded souls on the sidelines.  If you are one of them, it's time to offer up your sufferings in reparation instead of lashing out or losing your faith.

St. Francis Xavier threw a Crucifix into the sea, at once calming the waves.  Upon reaching the shore, the Crucifix was returned to him by a crab with a curious cross pattern on its shell.

  • Very good, Frances

Along the same lines, you can add from a well-known priest:
I know Bishop Fellay and he would never do anything like that.
Bishop Williamson and the two priests were just being disobedient!

  • Well, if a consolation...After there is no more water in the lacrimals, the reaction starts. And there are many ways to react including continue writing your excellent posts here in cathInfo. They do it on purpose for us to cry. Most important is to forget about all the efforts put in the Chapel. One did it for God Triune and for Our Holy Mother, not for particular Priests or Congregations. And we have a good bouquet of Holy Priests signing the Vienna Declaration. Let's be grateful for them and work for them; lots of work!

  • The priest at St. Michael's on LI said all this? Wow..well, I'm not surprised...Yeah, all those Eucharistic ministers and the parents of the altar girls REALLY want to come to the SSPX parishes but darn it...we have no officially recognized canonical status so they stay put! Yeah right...What planet are these people on? Have they talked to many of the Novus Ordinarians? The vast majority will ALWAYS go to the nearest "Catholic" Church bc it says "Catholic" on the sign...They wouldn't care if there was a kickline, a clown Mass or oreo cookies with optional ginger snaps...
Bp Williamson was supposed to retire...Does he look like he has nothing more to contribute or rather does it look like he has to go bc he upset the ADL and Max Krah?
I've had it with these people...the Indult, for me, is becoming a better option than the SSPX...See Bp Fellay? Your experiment worked...only in reverse...Pardon me while I go check the Latin Sunday Indult Mass times at St. Annes...

Isn't Fr. Robinson still the priest there? I go to St. Anthony of Padua here in Mt Holly but His Excellency is pushing me towards the Indult...St. Annes has one here at 12:30 on Sunday ( a little late in the day ) and 6 pm on Wed...

Father Robinson is the priest at St. Michael's in Long Island and at St. Christopher's in Manhattan. But I did not see where it was said that this conference happened at St. Michael's.

    Frances,
    I am confused.
    What did I miss?
Where/ when was this conference? Who were the speakers?
What was the putpose? Who was the audience? Is there a recording?
    Thanks, Frances

  • Oh. I didn't know that. Thanks Charlotte NC Bill. I go to Mass at St. Christopher's in Manhattan and Father Robinson is my priest also though I support Bishop Williamson and the resistance.  We did not get this conference at St. Christopher's. :alcohol:

  • You were lucky enough to miss it, huh? Thank God...it would have ruined my Sunday..The " Bp Williamson was supposed to retire " garbage probably made a couple of bad elements quite happy up there...

What are the areas of change of "practical prudence"?

Are Popes B16 and Francis are modernists and progressivists, why join them? Pope Pius X said to avoid such people like the plague.
