Tim,
Please send this out to your distribution list. I suspect some may be aware of this already, but many many prayers are needed.
Prayers are requested for the repose of the soul of Miss Beth Gerads, the Gerads family, and the students and staff of St. Mary’s College.
Beth, who was 19 and in her second semester at St. Mary’s, passed away late Wednesday evening after a less than forty-eight hour struggle with Influenza and complications of either pneumonia and/or asthma. She did receive Last Rites at least once on Wednesday and the Rosary and Prayers for the Dying were prayed. Her mother and grandmother arrived from Minnesota about half an hour before she died and several of her fellow college students stayed with her the entire time she was in the hospital (from Wednesday morning through the very late evening). Father Beck and Dr. Andrew Childs were also with her for the last few hours.
A first Requiem Mass was offered in St. Mary’s on Thursday morning. There will be a Rosary this evening, an overnight wake tonight and a sung Requiem Mass tomorrow morning (obituary attached).
Her family and the college students are in shock and definitely need all our prayers to help them through this. As most of cannot be there physically to assist, let us unite spiritually.
Thank you and everyone for your prayers and may God bless you always!
Ad Jesum per Mariam,
The Latz’s
I cry for Peter and Becky as I remember her just out of diapers and seeing her grow to such a lovely Catholic Lady over the years.
