So do it, Bishop Williamson. Lead the ousting of +Fellay and have him dejected. All the Traditionalists in the SSPX need is a leader to rally behind and make it plain to all that the SSPX says no to any agreement with a heretical, modernist and apostate Rome.
Hear! Hear!... It is my fervent prayer that +Fellay will be deposed.
What does not appear in the letter above is that the Archbishop actually encouraged Dom Thomas to rally the faithful monks in le Barroux, and eject Dom Gerard !
May the faithful sons of ABL hear his voice and fight this take over!
It's really the logical conclusion when we dare to put all the pieces together, that what is for the good of the Society right now, and for the good of the Church in general, is for +Fellay to be deposed. This may be what is in the works, but the defenders of Tradition are given reassurance when we let them know we support their courageous efforts, and that we're praying with this intention.
What, pray tell, could happen
if we all ADD TO OUR ROSARY CRUSADE INTENTION the fervent prayer that +Fellay will be deposed? I shouldn't have to assure you that's something that Fr. Rostand isn't going to disseminate in his e-mail "updates!"
Bishop Williamson might like to be more outspoken regarding this, but he is practicing prudence by not spelling it out at this time. Giving the example of Dom Gerard is as close as he dares to go, and some may criticize him for even that much.
The Chapter meeting that was announced for this month by +Fellay (at the halfway point of his 12-year term as Superior General of the SSPX) was evidently a target date toward which he was aiming, to use the Chapter for the purpose of announcing the new DEAL that he would have achieved by now. Who knows where we might be by this time if it had not been for the circulation of the "leaked letters" over the past few months?
Now that "the cat's out of the bag," as it were, he's taking the daring step to postpone the Chapter, for it might well be that it could backfire against him and morph into the Depose-Fellay-Fest that he may most intensely dread.
Still, there is a vice clamping down on the minds of so many good Catholics, some of whom are not regulars at SSPX parishes, keeping them in the box, making them think it's sinful to even read about what others are saying, and abstaining from any discussion on what is said to be the internal matters of the Society; for it's not our place, and we should "suspend judgment."
Suspend judgment -- how many times has that refrain been used for the excuse to not be what a fervent Catholic should be in the face of dangers to the faith?
Is that what the ancient Roman martyrs did when they were commanded to burn incense at the altars of false gods -- suspend judgment?
Is that what the Blessed Virgin Mary did for 9 days after Our Lord's Ascension into heaven -- suspend judgment?
Is that what St. Joseph did when he received the "private revelation" to take his Family and flee to Egypt when the regicidal Herod had decided to send his troops into Bethlehem to slaughter the innocents -- suspend judgment?
Is that what St. John Fisher did when the apostate King of England (through his messengers) told him that all the other bishops of England had captiulated -- suspend judgment?
This is not time to suspend judgment. It's time to practice the virtue of fidelity to Catholic Tradition, and to uphold the truth.
