October is a clean slate, even though it begins in 4 days!

Where will Fr. Pfeiffer and Fr. Hewko go next month? Will they basically repeat September? Will some places *not* get Mass that did in September, while other places that have had to be "patient" will get to have Mass? Or will one or both of them be overseas much of the month?

Furthermore, does anyone know *when* the new Seminary opens for classes? That might affect their availability a tad.

    Who knows...

In the early stages of any Traditional movement (the Trad movement in the 1980's, or the Resistance today), you don't get regular Mass like clockwork at the same time every week and every month.

    Just a random musing.

(I'm not impatient for another visit or anything; Fr. Hewko was just here not that long ago. I don't mind using the few weeks' downtime to get caught up on many other departments of my life.)

EDIT: Apparently there was another misunderstanding. I was referring to the tons of work that are involved in hosting a priest in one's home. Assuming one of the Fathers offers Mass here every month from now on, that leaves about 3 1/2 weeks where life is "normal", which includes attendance at my SSPX chapel.

Nevertheless, I've never shied away from hosting a Mass here, even when it was a Big Surprise and involved a sudden large workload. And if one of the Fathers wanted to come every week, I wouldn't care -- the house and chapel would just stay clean :)  The Resistance is worth it.

  • Why not apply to Father Faure? Isn't he in charge of coordinating the masses?

You misunderstand. I wasn't complaining, just musing.

I thought the update indicated Fr. Faure was coordinating only the South American contingent.

Yes, most months we only have about 12 hours notice or less, which makes it more difficult if it involves a family and changing plans at the last minute.

  • Well.. Isn't that a good surprise!

I mean the freedom to link to websites connected with the resistance again dispite personal differences.

    Good for you, Matthew.

This is an excellent thing to meditate upon for anyone thinking about no longer attending SSPX Masses. Really Matthew, you don't mind not having Mass for a few weeks so you can get caught up on many other departments of you life?

Read a post or two. It's not difficult to find Matthew's thoughts on attending SSPX Mass. Which he does, every week, by the way.

  • Nadir,

Is there a sort of schedule for his travels in Australia?  I have several friends who would be interested.

  •  Dates in Sydney are 11th - 13th October, but I don't know other dates. If you can pm me your email address I could have the schedule schedule sent. Or I could try to get another member to post it here.

  • Thanks, resistanceman! Can you help out with schedules for other places in Australia? Who co-ordinates the other states, in particular Brisbane? Message me if you like.
