On some points, they have all but overruled the expressed opinions of the founder of the old sspx. Now They have joined Fr. Pfeiffer and other "resistance" crackpots in essentially either deny or gravely questioning the points of view expressed by +Williamson, and, I assume, the new bishops whom the latter has consecrated.
What they have left is, alas, their own authority. They have appointed themselves, apparently, as the final arbiters of what truth is and of what genuine Catholicism is. I have difficulty viewing some of them as much more than mini-Luthers.
Faithful Catholics base their judgements upon the moral teaching and doctrinal rulings of the Church, and not upon the subjective opinions of an archbishop or his assistant.
This having nothing, at all, to do with Father Pfeiffer, and it might be pointed out that those whom the latter consecrated were consecrated by his own authority and choice, not the Church's.
The subjectively based opinions of archbishops and bishops do not overrule the objective doctrine and sacramental laws of the Church.
Mini- Luthers are those who choose their own opinions over the Church's, for instance, as Francis Bergolio does.
When the final court of appeal of a Catholic in matters of Faith, is a deceased Archbishop (RIP), who founded and led a religious group which has apparently failed and is leading its flock toward a co-habitation with a false religion, then the state of neo- Tradition is in a bad way.
