SERIOUSLY, MEN -- WHERE ARE THE MIRACLES?

What's wrong with "God bless you; have a nice day." and totally brush off any stories of apparitions until a miracle happens? I mean, the Fathers (including His Excellency) can be polite as possible while dismissing the apparition. Our Lady certainly wouldn't hold it against them. In fact, she'd be happy they are obeying God and His Church and would deign to grant a miracle if the priests' refusal to believe became an issue.

That's how it's been done in the past, throughout the history of the Catholic Church. No one has ever been censured for not believing in an apparition at first. Does anyone fault the local Bishop who didn't believe in Our Lady of Guadalupe at first? Of course not. His Church-ordered skepticism is why we have the beautiful miracle of the tilma and the roses.
