The ways of God are not the ways of men and the night is darkest just before the dawn.  How true this is.  God does things in His own supremely masterful way.  Because He is, beyond a doubt, the greatest of schemers.  

With that in mind, what do we currently see in Rome, in the shadow of the Vatican?  Matteo Salvini is inexorably drifting into position to be the next devoutly Catholic Fascist dictator of the Italian Republic.  Il Duce returned, to put this in its proper historical context.  And in consequence we see that next April 7, the Saturday of Easter Week, a very special conference will be held in Rome.  

The Roman Catholic Establishment, behind which are the world-wide Catholic aristocracy and haute bourgeosie, is to launch a formal judgement on the five-year pontificate of Pope Francis Bergoglio.  The official name of the conference will be:  “Catholic Church, Quo Vadis?” Numerous cardinals, foremost theologians and other exceedingly eminent luminaries will be in attendance.  The final and culminating moment of the conference will be the reading of a “Declaratio”, a concise Profession of Faith on the points of doctrine and morality that are most controversial today.

For those readers who may be a little slow on the uptake, this is the long-awaited formal schism of the Official Church into two sections, or if one prefers, the Expulsion of the Marxists from the Temple.  Our poor demented Pope Bergoglio is about to lose his bankers.

One would hope for such developments to correct what we feared as the march of history. I had lost faith in any residual Catholic establishment having the ability or desire to influence events; the tone was to live and let live. But bouts of populism and nationalism that we have witnessed over resent years may help reverse the traditionalist decline; the political scene acquiring a religious dimension. We would not expect the mainstream churches to be our allies in all of this; they would mount an opposition, keenly displaying their liberal credentials. Any conservatives in Rome will have an uphill struggle if they are to make a difference in all of this; they are prone to compromise and have been imbued with conciliarism over decades.
