Easy to throw stones when youve been overlooked

  • It's easy to throw stones at others, when you're in the same boat but the authorities haven't caught up with you yet!

How many Novus Ordo priests discover Tradition, and initially look down on their "Traditional Catholic" fellow priests.

"Oh, they are disobedient, rash, so much worse than myself, who have found a nice little niche for myself. I love the Latin Mass, and I say the Latin Mass, but I am still in good standing with the Church authorities!"

...and several months pass, until those Church authorities take notice of said priest, and then pressure is brought to bear.

At that point, either the priest compromises and goes back to the Novus Ordo religion, or he reluctantly swallows his pride, eats crow, and joins his "rebellious" Traditional Catholic priest confreres in the world of Tradition.

This could also be applied to those on Fr. Pfeiffer's "good side". You might look down on those of us who admit the evils in Boston, criticize the operation there, criticize Pablo, and in general point out the "ugly" in that group. You might think you are more holy, more charitable, more nice, or something along those lines.

But eventually Fr. Pfeiffer will have a problem with YOU. Yes, even something innocent. After all, he has something against all of us and there isn't a thing we say that isn't innocent and completely Catholic. You will no doubt be shocked on the day he takes you to task about something you thought was completely innocuous.

On that day, you will see just how right the rest of us were. And how wrong you were to look down on us, or even judge us!

Long story short, don't kid yourself! If I could "support Fr. Pfeiffer" and still be faithful to the truth and the good of souls, I would do so in a heartbeat. The same goes for Bishop Fellay, Fr. Schmidberger, etc.

It's not like I'm a Hatfield and Bishop Fellay is a McCoy, so we were taught to hate each other from a young age. On the contrary, I was a huge SSPX fan and apologist, and even attended their seminary for 3 1/2 years to become a priest, which I was completely earnest about. I was not disposed at all to dislike the SSPX. I was FORCED to oppose them.

Likewise, I'm a very down-to-earth individual, living on acreage and the kind of guy who wears T-shirts and jeans. I raise chickens, burn trash outside, park vehicles in my yard, line-dry my laundry, and save metal to sell to the recycling center. I own a 16 foot utility trailer and I use it frequently. When I see a pile of garbage with a "FREE!" sign, I'm one of those guys who stops and checks it out. I get my T-shirts from a local church who has a rummage sale twice a year -- they cost $2 for a large paper grocery bag full.

The rural/poor/hick/country nature of the Boston, KY operation doesn't bother me in the least. Only the very real problems that Fr. Voigt, a devout priest, saw fit to mention in his Open Letter.

A priest who gives off-the-cuff, interesting, exciting, heartfelt sermons while leaning on the podium actually appeals to me. I got along just fine with Fr. Pfeiffer before his "fall from grace".

If you want to rash-judge me, and proudly look down on me and countless others who agree with me, then you deserve what you get!

  • Universal Crisis is universal and it will find you wherever you are. There are no absolute guarantees, only hope and prayer. That you can take wherever you go. God willing, we'll meet up with like-minded individuals and build up what we can. In the case of obvious scoundrels like Pfeiffer, all available effort ought to be made to remove them from our midst.
