I once asked Dr. White at St. Thomas Aquinas seminary, "Dr. White, in your opinion who in America should have the right to vote?"  He said without hesitation, "I believe that only men who own land and have family should be able to vote, because they stand to lose something if they do not vote correctly."  My level of respect for him increased that day because he was willing to give an unpopular opinion and not give a damn.

Dr. White used to be a guest on the Hugh Hewitt show, years ago. It was always enjoyable.  You can do a search on Hewitt's site and find transcripts of their shows together.  I think they used to do cruises, too, and host conferences on Shakespeare.  That would have been so much fun.

May he rest in peace.

Here is a fun article about his conversion.  He reminds me a bit of Chesterton sometimes. :cowboy:

I'm going to have to dig out my Brother Marcel caricatures (cards), both of Dr. White and Bp. Williamson. Br. Marcel is so talented, he made so many masterpieces in my opinion.

It was always a bright day when Br Marcel unveiled another card for everyone to sign.

If someone could collect all of them and publish a book, I'm sure it would sell!

I love the part where he was going to Mass and somehow ended up at a TLM and never looked back. :cowboy:
