The SSPX has sent out an appeal for donation to fix the flood damage at the Dickinson TX chapel.  Videos on youtube.

I don't think the books themselves are of much concern, but the risk of mold in the floors and walls would be.  Very expensive to fix that sort of damage.  There is another video on youtube showing damage to the church, small things so far.

True, they don't have a lot of damage compared to other parts of town but that old facility is all they've got, and a fairly small congregation to boot so I doubt they have much of a savings account.

That is the church we go to when in TX, it is a beautiful old church.

A good part of the way the church looks today is Bishop Zendejas' work from the time he was stationed there. He even carved the pulpit himself (among many other things).

I would not relish the thought of those works being ruined.

Qi - Did Stella Maris Chapel have any damage?

From what I have heard so far, everything is good at Stella Maris. The parking lot only had 3 inches on one day, and a leak in the roof here and there, but it's not damaged otherwise, thanks be to God. Considering the location of Stella Maris and Queen of Angels, I'm amazed that the churches received so little trouble! I've also had an old friend tell me that St. Michael's Church in North Houston was spared any flooding, though it came close to it.

What has really been a disaster is the homes of parishioners of both churches being flooded, and even nearly completely submerged. It's terrible! I don't even know how most of them are doing at this moment...

I've always wondered growing up "With all the work we Traditionalist have put into His houses, will He ever destroy them?" So far the answer has been "No, but just a little damage."
