Dear Father Rostand,

I would like to publicly respond to your accusations against “Bishop Williamson and a few dissident priests”, stated in the most recent “Letter from the District Superior”, June 2013.

As a human creature with a body and a soul, I cannot live by bread alone, “but in every word that proceedeth from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4) I need TRUTH in order to possess a wholeness of mind, body, and soul.
This includes ALL Truth: religious Truth, historical Truth, political Truth, scientific Truth, etc. (Gospel of Saint John, Chapter 21)

Who has enough Faith, Hope, and Charity to bring these Truths to me? Who has enough courage to fight AGAINST the world, the flesh, and the devil? Shouldn’t the answer be: the true shepherds of Jesus Christ? [The Way, the Truth, and the Life] (John 14:6)

Your leadership has asked the rhetorical question: “Resistance to What?” (Regina Coeli, June 2013)
My answer is the following: Sheep naturally resist hirelings and wolves, yet are docile toward a “good shepherd”. (John 10:13)

If you desire to “win over” the resistance, be a good shepherd: One who feeds the sheep the Truth in its entirety, even at the risk of his own life.

Bishop Williamson and the resistance priests may have their "weak moments", as do we all; however, they go to great lengths to take ALL THE TRUTH to souls. May God bless them for their selflessness, courage, and love of TRUTH.

When I was a young man, I learned the following: “You can fool your superiors most of the time; you can fool your peers part of the time; but you can rarely fool your subordinates, for they watch everything you do.”
