I saw it again.
Now, I'm hung up on details. The sermon was noteworthy, but I'd like to know
about some other things. This was a High Mass, but only two tiny candles on
each side: I suppose you go with what you've got, no? The background noises
of some kind of carnival or playground would drive me nuts. The faithful have
to kneel on a grass lawn. It's like the catacombs again. It makes me sad to see
such impoverished conditions for a good priest. He has no place to go when Mass
is finished. But the altar server is able to sneak out through the sliding glass
door behind the altar during the Offertory(?) -- and why 5 corporals? And no
burse for any of them? I'm sure someone has some reasons for all this. The
missal he's using is a traveling priest's version, very small, perhaps
abbreviated, but the type must be tiny. I hope he can see it without
needing reading glasses (I couldn't!). I'm glad to see he's using the
maniple (sp?) in the traditional way instead of the "updated" 1962 rubric. And
he referred to the Feast Day in the proper title, when they still had
the Octaves in place: Sunday within the Octave of Corpus Christi.
That's nice.
I used Selective Startup and shut down a bunch of nonsense,
now my computer is running faster. FYI.
