  • What about when pope Francis said...paraphrasing...that Jesus was not spirit but  flesh and a man and that now He was gone

    Id like to ask...

Didnt Jesus say the Father is Spirit?

Didnt He say He was like the Father ?

Didnt He say he would remain with us always?

The flesh died on the Cross the Spirit Resurrected it

To me these words of Pope Francis were a wake up call which led me to this forum and to you..so I take the opportunity to say hi to everyone..since I registered today and this is my first post

    Blessings

Now what can we expect to happen from this open letter?

In truth no such letter could be addressed to the Vicar of Christ!

It is surely a waste of time to address it to an Anti-Pope!

What we expect is that nothing will happen.  What we can expect might happen is that Bergoglio could condemn the letter writer as just another Pelagian not worthy of his time.

    Quote

We all were always puzzled, but we know his clear criteria, since in speeches he shows some convictions and certainties, always faithful to the Magisterium and the Tradition of the Church; he is a brave and loyal defender of correct doctrine. But ... apparently, he loves to be loved by all and please everyone, so one day he could make a speech on TV against abortion, and the next day, on the same TV show, bless the pro-abortion feminists in the Plaza de Mayo; can give a wonderful speech against the Masons and, a few hours later, be dining and drinking with them in the Rotary Club."

Since we're on the topic of following a pattern, since he's excommunicated the Mafia, maybe it's time for him to have a party with them, in order to act according to character.

And then, for the Benedict XVI fans out there............

    Quote

In the days following your election, you gave me several opportunities to confirm that you are the same person I had known closely, always looking to be different: you asked for different shoes, a different ring, a different Cross, a different chair and even room and home different from the rest of the Popes who had been humbly content with existing things, without the need of "special" things for themselves.

In those days I was trying to recover from the immense pain felt by the resignation of my beloved and much admired Pope Benedict XVI, with whom I identified from the beginning in an extreme way, for the clarity of his teachings (he is the best teacher in the world), for his fidelity to the Sacred Liturgy, for his courage in defending sound doctrine amid the enemies of the Church and for a thousand other things I will not enumerate. With him at the helm of the Barque of Peter I felt I was standing on firm ground. And with his resignation, I felt the ground disappearing beneath my feet, but I understood it, because the winds were really stormy and the papacy something too rough for his strength, now diminished by age, in the terrible and violent culture war being waged.

What a nice litany this would make:

For my beloved and much-admired Pope Benedict XVI,
What immense pain I felt, upon my hearing of your resignation!

O, my beloved and much-admired Pope Benedict XVI,
With whom I identified from the beginning in an extreme way!

O, my Pope Benedict XVI, beloved and much-admired
For the clarity of your teachings!

O, my beloved Pope Benedict XVI, the best teacher in the world:
Admired for your fidelity to the Sacred Liturgy,
And for your courage in defending sound doctrine!

For you have defended sound doctrine amidst the enemies of the Church!
And you are beloved and much-admired for a thousand other things!
So MANY things, they're just, just, just, TOO NUMEROUS to mention! :faint:

With you at the helm of the Barque of Peter,
I felt I was standing on firm ground!
    And with your resignation,
I felt the ground disappearing beneath my feet!

But I understood it, because the winds were really stormy,
    And the papacy was something too rough for your strength;
For now you are diminished by age:
In the terrible and violent culture war being waged.

(Don't you just want to print this up and go out to have it framed?? poche??)

Francis has said so many things that are flatly ridiculous.

Maybe someone could make a list of his buffoonery some day, if that would be of any use.

We really shouldn't be paying attention to such nonsense.  Because when any pope speaks off the cuff in an offhand way, in a situation where it is not a planned event or any designated time for him to answer questions or pronounce Church teaching, what he says carries very little weight, inasmuch as it's not "official."  The only importance it has is because of who it is speaking.

There was a movie, "Being There," starring Peter Sellers, who played the part of a mentally retarded man that became 'famous' for saying vague things that people took to mean much more than he had intended them to mean.  Francis has been in a way playing the part of this kind of character.

The letter of this woman (the OP) is useful to expose Francis for what he is: one who seeks not to conserve Sacred Tradition but one who's all about destroying everything traditional.

Even the execrable Roger Cardinal Mahony was standing there supporting the election of Francis by his silent presence.  These two men are birds of a feather, for they both are similarly devoted to doing and saying things that have never been said or done before in the history of the Church.

They raise non-Catholicism to a new low.

(I attended a funeral "Rosary" recently (May 2nd, 2014) for a mutual friend, where Mahony was present, sitting silently in the sanctuary, at St. Charles Borromeo Church, North Hollywood, CA.  Mahony is retired, in residence there at the Rectory.  He was the first one to go stand in front of the open casket of the deceased, walking slowly around the sanctuary at various moments.  Several people near me wondered who that is, and I had to tell them that it's Cardinal Mahony.  I was surprised they didn't recognize him, but perhaps it was due to his silence -- he said nothing, not even one word, during the entire service, but sat still, or walked around, and stood still here and there, kind of like a statue, really.  Maybe he's getting people used to the idea of seeing statues of him in the "churches!?!?")
