Title: Communique from Ecclesia Dei

Fr Roberts has posted the following. I always believed, they were negotiating and a canonical agreement seems certain. It's Home Sweet Rome for the neo SSPX. I feel sorry for those beguiled by Bishop Fellay, a confidence trickster.

The Pontifical Commission "Ecclesia Dei" takes this occasion to announce that, in its most recent official communication (6 September 2012), the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X has indicated that additional time for reflection and study is needed on their part as they prepare their response to the Holy See’s latest initiatives.

The current stage in the ongoing discussions between the Holy See and the Priestly Fraternity follows three years of doctrinal and theological dialogues during which a joint commission met eight times to study and discuss, among other matters, some disputed issues in the interpretation of certain docuмents of Vatican Council II. Once these doctrinal dialogues were concluded, it became possible to proceed to a phase of discussion more directly focused on the greatly desired reconciliation of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X with the See of Peter.

Other critical steps in this positive process of gradual reintegration had already been taken by the Holy See in 2007 with the extension of the Extraordinary Form of the Roman Rite to the Universal Church by the Motu Proprio Summorum Pontificuм and in 2009 with the lifting of the excommunications. Just a few months ago, a culminating point along this difficult path was reached when, on 13 June 2012, the Pontifical Commission presented to the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X a doctrinal declaration together with a proposal for the canonical normalization of its status within the Catholic Church.

At the present time, the Holy See is awaiting the official response of the superiors of the Priestly Fraternity to these two docuмents. After thirty years of separation, it is understandable that time is needed to absorb the significance of these recent developments. As Our Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI seeks to foster and preserve the unity of the Church by realizing the long hoped-for reconciliation of the Priestly Fraternity of St. Pius X with the See of Peter – a dramatic manifestation of the munus Petrinum in action – patience, serenity, perseverance and trust are needed.

I would no longer use the term discussions. Whilst many are adopting the "wait and see" approach, people will have to act if or when Bishop Fellay signs.Has he signed already? Who knows.

*Nobody would be naive to believe that Rome are friends of Tradition and would give the SSPX what they want without conditions. (Some who attend the SSPX are naive to believe that Rome is a friend when in reality they are wolves, who are friends of Jews, Rome is full of Freemasons,Liberals, and Benedict XVI is the same as he was when Fr and Cardinal Ratzinger.

What Ecclesia Dei says here is what 95% of SSPXers believe, see my thread "Nothing Said at the Parish Level...":

Quote from: bowler
At our parish there is nothing ever said directly in the sermons about the accord, or the priests who defied it, or the situation with Bishop Williamson.
The sermons beat around the bush but never really come out and say anything clear. The only people who know that anything is happening are the ones on the internet. I'd say that as many as 95% of the parishioners do not know anything other than "the talks with Rome are still ongoing, last news was they rejected what we asked for".

Nobody understands what the obscure sermons mean, so, they turn off mentally during the sermons, which are always about obedience and how evil the internet is.

Is this going on all over? If so, I believe is a planned tactic of Menzingen, to keep the laity ill informed.

This article from October 2011 may explain why Bishop Williamson was expelled from the SSPX

World Jєωιѕн Congress Urges Rome to Sideline Opponents of Catholic-Jєωιѕн Reconciliation 24 October 2011

http://www.worldJєωιѕнcongress.org/userfil...ramStern2-2.jpg Ahead of the interfaith meeting later this week in Assisi, Italy – hosted by Pope Benedict XVI and to be attended by 300 religious leaders from around the Globe – the World Jєωιѕн Congress (WJC) has urged the Vatican to forcefully oppose attempts to blame Jews collectively for the death of Jesus. Deputy Secretary-General Maram Stern, the WJC official in charge of inter-religious dialogue (pictured right at a meeting with the pope in 2010), said: “Last week, Catholics were treated to another despicable tractate by Bishop Richard Williamson whose point was to derail Catholic-Jєωιѕн reconciliation and to revive age-old anti-Semitic canards such as that of Jєωιѕн deicide. This was a timely reminder that there are still many clerics out there who vehemently oppose and actively undermine dialogue and reconciliation between Catholics and Jews.”
“Unfortunately, some Catholic splinter groups such as Williamson’s Society of St. Pius X continue to defend and propagate medieval anti-Jєωιѕн teachings. It is therefore important not to jeopardize the enormous achievements made in Catholic-Jєωιѕн dialogue over the past decades by allowing preachers of hate in again through the back door. Certainly, notorious αnтι-ѕємιтєs such as Bishop Williamson must not be granted a place in the Catholic Church," Stern declared.

Last week, Williamson – who in 2009 publicly denied the existence of gas chambers in nαzι death camps and was convicted by a German court earlier this year of h0Ɩ0cαųst denial – wrote on his web blog: “Only the Jews (leaders and people) were the prime agents of the deicide” [of Jesus Christ], and not Roman Prefect Pontius Pilate. Williamson also alleged “a continuity amongst Jews down the centuries”, indirectly blaming today’s Jews for Jesus’ death.
Maram Stern, who will represent the World Jєωιѕн Congress at the Assisi gathering, said Jews around the world valued that Pope Benedict XVI, like his predecessor John Paul II, “is sincerely committed to strengthening inter-faith dialogue.” Stern urged the Pope to reiterate statements he made earlier this year in his book on Jesus and turn them into an article of faith of the Church.

Bishop "I was tricked" Fellay is not dealing openly with his flock. What is going on behind the curtains?

LOL.... "Bishop, I was tricked, Fellay".  Now that is the perfect moniker for the unfortunate SG.  Thanks for that, Graham.  (A little levity in the darkening storm is always appreciated.)

I am completely confused by this docuмent from Ecclesia Dei.

They are clearly saying that everything between the Vatican and the SSPX is going along on a clear path to reconciliation.

It appears they have been told that the door of dialogue is open while we have been told it was slammed in their face.

Someone has been deceived.

If I were 'sursum corda', I would ask my priest.
