The way I read it they sound threatened by this consecration, especially in the last paragraph in which they try to reassure everyone they are still as they once were. I smell FEAR.

A) applaud the consecration, or
B) condemn the consecration, but distinguish how they are different

The problem is, they are in essentially the same boat.

UNLESS the SSPX is actively working towards and seeking an agreement with Rome.

So in a certain respect, +Williamson is forcing the SSPX to show its hand.

In the meantime, the SSPX communique is intensely hypocritical. The pot calling the kettle black.

I believe Rome will expect more from + Fellay than what he says in the communique. He has to choose sides regarding necessity or not and if he is already secretly "reintegrated", they may expose him before long. Rome is must be as tired of his ambiguity as we are.
