Bishop Williamson and Fr. Faure have not been members of the Society of St. Pius X since 2012 and 2014, respectively, because of their violent criticisms of any relations with the Roman authorities. According to them, such contacts were incompatible with the apostolic work of Archbishop Lefebvre. Well, the former actually because he questioned the h0Ɩ0cαųst.

Well, nobody is allowed to upset the Jєωs nowadays... Being classified as anti-semitic has become the ultimate unforgivable "crime".  Being anti-Judaism (meaning, you know, the ageless Catholic stand) automatically grants you the title of criminal nazy.
If anyone says that true and natural water is not necessary for baptism and thus twists into some metaphor the words of our Lord Jesus Christ" Unless a man be born again of water and the Holy Spirit" (Jn 3:5) let him be anathema.

  • Not all lies are the demonic, malicious variety. But this one is.

People often lie to get out of trouble. Such is human.

But whoever wrote that communique KNOWS it's a lie. Any Trad knows why a Trad bishop would consecrate another Trad priest a bishop. It's the reason why Archbishop Lefebvre did it, and +Williamson has given NO INDICATION that his reasoning and motivation is anything different.

Has +Williamson publicly said that +Faure is to have jurisdiction in Brazil or anywhere else? No.

To pretend otherwise is to tell a malicious, slanderous, demonic, bald-faced lie.

Again, if the SSPX is in the right, or even POSSIBLY in the right, then why are they so desperate, even using the devil's handbook? It sure doesn't look good for the organization.

See this stuff I expect. For those in the world, the conciliar Church, etc. I expect such a reaction.

For the SSPX to join in is malicious and hypocritical.

  • I like it when Jєωs get angry. When someone makes Jєωs angry he is often doing good.

Also, since the new Bishop is almost as old as Bishop Williamson, we will probably have another consecration in a few years to make Jєωs angry again.
    R.I.P.
Please pray for the repose of my soul.

  • I am sure this is meant for external consumption. Again, Menzingen has to justfy its case against alternative organisations to the world and Rome while awaiting charges of hypocrisy. It will rarely win this one. Internally, most have been overdosed on the notion that there is no salvation outside the SSPX (which to be honest existed in ABL's time) but a few still need to be convinced.

  • I say!, Max must have hired a Hollywood fantasy writer to pen this childish absurdity.
This is most definitely the stuff of the playground. Who do they think that they are fooling here? Not the perfidious Romans, and not the Jєωs, who's influence and reaction is yet to be revealed. Well perhaps the cultists among us, I will give them that.

Matthew hit the nail on the head in his first responses in this thread.

You know, it is all or nothing. Either they are both justified, or neither one is justified in their claim of necessity. To claim otherwise is a dishonest and deceiptful act.

  • Yes, the +Lefebvre consecrations were motivated by opposition to Modernism in the Church, while the +Williamson consecration was motivated by opposition to non-opposition to Modernism in the Church.  So not at all the same.  We should write up a satirical parody of this thing and sent it back to Menzingen.

The Society of St. Pius X denounces this episcopal consecration of Father Faure, which, despite the assertions of both clerics concerned, is not at all comparable to the consecrations of 1988. All the declarations of Bishop Williamson and Fr. Faure prove abundantly that they no longer recognize the Roman authorities, except in a purely rhetorical manner.

Well, of course this consecration can not be comparable to the consecrations of 1988.  How could it be otherwise. LOL.
We were in SSPX for 10 years.  I don't recall ever hearing about the recognition of the Roman authorities in other than "a purely rhetorical manner,"  do you?  I think maybe most of the lay members  of Immaculate Conception Church in Coeur d'Lene, ID didn't even know the name of the local Ordinary, or whether they were in the diocese of Boise or Spokane.
I predicted on another post that we'd be hearing soon from SSPX headquarters.  Sure enough!  They have sat on it a little longer before reacting to the news.  This news release is absolutely pathetic.

Can we ask for clarity here?  The news release reports that Fr. Faure has not been a member of SSPX since 2014.  Didn't Father state just prior to the consecration that SSPX would have four bishops if the Society did not move quickly to oust him formally?  Maybe I was imagining it.

Communiqué of the General House of the Society of St. Pius X concerning the episcopal consecration of Father Faure.

You all noticed, didn't you, that every word in the headline, except for propositions and definite articles, was capitalized, and, oh yeah, "episcopal consecration."  This is a small minded bunch, let me tell you.  How we lasted even 10 years in this organization is beyond me!  Just desperate for Tradition, I guess.
