Two months ago, Fellay had to confront the deans of the district of France who publicly rejected the liberal provisions envisaged by Menzingen and Rome for the administration of the sacrament of marriage within the tradition.  A public letter opposing these provisions collected almost 700 signatures in a few weeks.  The numerous comments showed the exasperation of the faithful against the intrigues of the current superior of the SSPX.  To try to save his negotiation and his authority, Bishop Fellay punished recalcitrant priests with very harsh sanctions.

In spite of the manifold acts of vassalage of the Swiss bishop, they gave him a cold shower.  Cardinal Müller ended the negotiations.  No to regularization without full and complete adherence to the Second Vatican Council: each member of the SSPX must first make the profession of faith of 1988, secondly he must explicitly accept the teachings of the Second Vatican Council and the post-conciliar period and third , Must recognize not only the validity but also the legitimacy of the new Mass and the sacraments of Vatican II.

On June 29, after the breakfast of the ordinations at Ecône, Monsignor Fellay spoke of a "club" and made known his disappointment: "it is as in the game of the goose.  We almost reached the end and we have fallen from the box: return to the starting box.  Behold, everything has come down, it is necessary to start from scratch. "

Everything for this?  The goose must be wary of foxes.  The brutal reaction of Cardinal Müller, who comes after long years of more or less secret negotiations, says much about Fellay's commitments during this game of the oca ...

Bishop Fellay no longer has the confidence of many of his priests and many faithful.  Now he is snubbed by Rome.  Its deadline expires next year ...

The (Ratzinger) profession of faith of 1988, the clear and resolute NON negotiable condition from Rome has always covered all the above under the paragraph:

Moreover, I adhere with religious submission of will and intellect to the teachings which either the Roman Pontiff or the College of Bishops enunciate when they exercise their authentic Magisterium, even if they do not intend to proclaim these teachings by a definitive act.

It is that simple. Once they sign this "profession of faith" they are as muzzled as all the indult communities. The only new thing here is that the Vatican got sick and tired of +Fellay beating around the bush. Now the Romans know +Fellay doesn't have the support he expected and they want the whole SSPX or none. It would defeat their purpose which is total control.

I'm wondering what statement he will make at the ordinations on the 10th anniversary of Summorum Pontificuм which was concocted as a trap for the SSPX.

The love of God be your motivation, the will of God your guiding principle, the glory of God your goal.
