  • Someone forwarded me this comment sent to the editor of The Remnant in the most recent print edition. This man is clued up and if you notice his last name it makes it all the more interesting. (my emphasis throughout)

    Quote
Thank you for publishing the historic and prophetic words of Archbishop Lefebvre from 1976.  What a breath of fresh air!  Most telling, and most frightful, is the part about how the Masons planned and slowly infiltrated the very heart of the Church, the seminaries.  It brings to mind what Bella Dodd revealed, that she herself knew of thousands of young men who were sent to deceive and destroy from within.  What is even more frightening is the increasing evidence that the same slow process is underway in the traditional movement.  While we always need to remain vigilant to external threats, we also need to wake up and shine the light inside.  There are definite signs of neo-modernism creeping in.  The Carbonari plan is still in operation, even in places once considered safe.  Thank you for the light of The Remnant in the darkness.  St. John the Baptist was vox clamantis in deserto, you are the vox remnantis in catacumbis!

    In Christo Rege, Andrew Senior.

  • Tradition has many weaknesses that can be exploited, and they are being exploited.  It is as simple as, if there are loopholes, judas' will fit their heads through it.  It was a happy day when the ratio of judas to faithful apostles was 1:12.  Those are darn good numbers.  They were good enough for Jesus.

  • Surprised the Remnant published that! Mind you, they expose the “errors” of traditional Fr Paul Kramer and yet have their new prelate as the conciliar Bishop Schneider. Shame that Matt’s dropped the ball on tradition and the fight for it

  • I happen to like Mr. Matt.  I don't know a terrible lot about him.  But, I have watched some of his videos, and I think they are worth watching.

  • Oh I didn’t say he didn’t have good things to say. But the whole trad-cumenism, “hey man, as long as it’s a Latin Mass, brah” thing I don’t dig. And really, he can’t see through Schneider?

I think I will have to agree with you.  We have a ways to descend further before we can rise upwards.  I just hope and pray it is voluntary on our part.

Yes, that’s true. It’s just doesn’t make sense to me. His dad hung out with +Lefebvre, who confirmed Matt, and now, he goes online and has a video about how we should stop talking about the FSSP because, come on, they’re good people. Missing the point entirely!

Matt started taking SSPX advertisements and writing positive stories about them in 2012.
You can flip an old stack Remnant newspapers and see when it began.

He's done a huge disservice to the traditional movement by not reporting on even the existence of the SSPX Resistance,
and always giving Bp. Fellay good press.

I'll never believe he fulfilled his duty of state as a true Catholic journalist?
During these dark times, we trads get enough propaganda as it is.
"Some preachers will keep silence about the truth, and others will trample it underfoot and deny it. Sanctity of life will be held in derision even by those who outwardly profess it, for in those days Our Lord Jesus Christ will send them not a true Pastor but a destroyer."  St. Francis of Assisi

  • Matt is no journalist.

    He's a propagandist for Menzingen.

  • I gave up on him and his publication over 20years ago.  His has been a long slow slide away from the true faith.

  • It seems that the Remnant has recently published again (online) the talk given by Archbishop Lefebvre in 1976, which they had originally published in print a year ago:

In the fifth paragraph down in the article of the talk given by +ABL, which has been published in the Remnant, the Archbishop says that the change [revolution] in the Church began one hundred years before the Second Vatican Council. Archbishop Lefebvre says specifically in the fifth paragraph:

"I think that the mutation in the Church came in through the Second Vatican Council. And do you think that this change in the Church came suddenly? When, then? At the beginning of the Church? No, this change in the church began one century before [the council]. Pope Pius Vl said during the French Revolution that if the Church continues to remain under the influence of the prince of the revolution, then, in the future a crisis will come upon the Church."

He is a perfect reason why tradition needs something more substantive than what we currently have.  Because, trads like Mr. Matt are too talented and therefore effective.  Who is to blame him for what he is doing.  He is married.  It is not his state in life to be a prophet.  He is simply working with what the traditional clergy give him.  And, I cannot knock him for that.  The resistances objections are mainly proximate and sentimental to our problems.  They are correct sentiments, but they are still only that.  And, until they carry some power of force, they will be inadequate.
