  • Hewkonian,

Does your new lengthy post above contain the exact quotes that you accused +W of in the OP?
"It is licit to resist a Sovereign Pontiff who is trying to destroy the Church. I say it is licit to resist him in not following his orders and in preventing the execution of his will. It is not licit to Judge him, to punish him, or to depose him, for these are acts proper to a superior."

    ~St. Robert Bellarmine
    De Romano Pontifice, Lib.II, c.29

  • Why oh why is this cult member being allowed to propagate on here the calumnies and detractions of his vain cult leader? The fake lefebvrist.

The cult is diminishing to the point where they are all imbibing the spiritual Kool Aid of Fr Comb-Over and as we know misery loves company.

Please, Matthew, delete this thread again.
I rebuke all the calumny and slander directed at a priest here.

Can you provide any refutation of the content I posted?

  • Hi Hewkonian
Please provide exact quote and source for Archbishop Lefebvre’s statement that the new mass does not absolutely confer grace. For my sake. Thank you very much.
    Hi Hewkonian

Hi Infirmus, please see quote below from Archbishop Lefebvre:

[T]he Holy Sacrifice of the Mass, desecrated as it is [i.e., the new mass], no longer confers grace and no longer transmits it.

-Open Letter to Confused Catholics, Ch.3.

  • See this for the other side, where +ABL agreed with +BW: "He exhorted them:
    Quote
Quote Make every effort to have the Mass of St. Pius V, but if it is impossible to find one within forty kilometers and if there is a pious priest who says the New Mass in as traditional a way as possible, it is good for you to assist at it to fulfill your Sunday obligation."
One can counter the dangers for the Faith through solid catechism:
    Quote
Quote Should all the world’s churches be emptied? I do not feel brave enough to say such a thing. I don’t want to encourage atheism."[10]

  • Hewkonian's argument is "Mahopac, NY"? That is OLD NEWS. I was THERE by the way, I actually heard the whole thing in context.

It was exactly like this quote (see next paragraph), only even "better" because it was spoken to an emotional lady who was practically in tears. She pulled on Bp. W's heartstrings and let me tell you -- he has them. You don't prefer Beethoven because you have no -- or even weak -- emotions. Let's just say I can relate personally.

The emotional lady already established at the beginning of her question that this was a "pious priest" who said the Novus Ordo reverently.

At worst, +W should have spoken with the lady privately later. It was at worst "imprudent" to make such personal (specific, non-general) advice during a public conference. THAT WAS THE BEST, FAIREST, MOST BALANCED TAKE from that controversial conference.

And NO we shouldn't be going to Novus Ordo Watch for their distorted hit-pieces either. We don't need to watch someone's chopped up sound bites, their out-of-context, distortions of the truth, twisted into a hit piece against +Williamson and/or the Resistance. That is exactly what we DON'T need -- at least if we're interested in the truth.

I'm going to leave up (what's left of) this thread, to demonstrate how cult-like Fr. Hewko's followers are. Fr. Hewko USED TO be a great priest. He said Mass at my chapel twice in 2013. But unfortunately he fell in with Fr. Pfeiffer, and stayed there against common sense and prudence. If he had ONE fatal flaw it was IMPRUDENCE or following Fr. Pfeiffer. He was willing to ignore grave issues all around him, and that turned out to be his undoing. He underwent satanic influence, and I mean direct diabolical influence (Santeria, curses, obsession, etc.) which he STILL hasn't fully recovered from.

You don't spend years around a Santeria warlock and emerge from it a better man.

That quote of +ABL is from 1972 when there was still a chance, however slim, of there even being "a pious priest who says the New Mass in as traditional a way as possible." And this aside from the fact that the new "mass" cannot be said in a traditional way - by design. But back then many, including +ABL still held out what has proven to be a false hope.
"But Peter and the apostles answering, said: We ought to obey God, rather than men." - Acts 5:29

The Highest Principle in the Church: "We are first of all under obedience to God, and only then under obedience to man" - Fr. Hesse

  • Because I don't see the evidence that others (i.e. Fr Chazal) share +W's views on all these things.  Which is good.

So let's not throw the entire Resistance as one, big "group think" based on +W alone.  More evidence is needed.

Fr. Pfeiffer (and his underling, Fr. Hewko) both operate this way though. They DO operate as a unified cult under the power of group-think. They require each of their followers to accept ALL of their positions and condemnations. They have no "optional" teachings that Mass-attendees can "take it or leave it".

So these cultists (Pfeifferites, Hewkonians) PROJECT this onto their enemies. Even though it completely misses the mark.

  • Yes he's banned. My instincts told me to ban him yesterday when I deleted his thread. For some reason I went against my instincts, and it cost me about an hours' "moderating work" first thing today.

That'll teach me to go against my gut.

I agree Mattew. I was conditionally Confirmed there that day. I feel that Bishop Williamson handled the distraught woman as best he could in a public setting. She was upset and crying. She apparently was just a NO family member there for the Confirmations and didn't understand much of what was happening. (especially the nuances) . I spoke to her in the hallway and all I could say to her was just pray and do the best that you can. She was STILL upset and crying then as well.
It was not the circuмstance for a chastisement of the NO. It would have not been received and even brutally misunderstood for her. The woman was out of place and shouldn't have asked a question let alone having it answered in public. He spoke to her as he would have spoken to a a child. She was not ready for more.

I didn't know this.  So this woman made a spectacle of herself in the middle of a Sacrament.  Can you imagine being her family?
